  • Let’s assume that Hustler was legal in what they did. (I believe they were.) But just because an act is legal doesn’t mean that one should do it. If it were in a formal business meeting, while I could legally pick my nose, belch loudly, or let go a robust flatulence, should I do so? Just because one can legally engage in offensive or repulsive behavior doesn’t mean that one should refrain from doing so.

Many would say Hustler is offensive and obscene by its nature. But what makes this incident particularly offensive in that it isn‘t an anonymous person whose insult wouldn’t be noted by many. This one has the overtones of being a personal insult to Ms. Cupp and all that she stands for.

  • I agree with Quiltgal. If education in general is anything like this, it is no wonder children are not being educated well. Throwing more money at schools will not fix problems like this.

  • Everyone, including media, please do examine the records of Mr. Romney AND Mr. Obama. Try vetting the candidates of BOTH major parties this time, unlike 2008.

  • Good. We know where she stands. I would rather have their stands known in the open than hide in the shadows.

  • DAILY, Obama and his propaganda machine puts out something to distract from his record. It usually about race, religion, economic class. This is yet another one. DON’T TAKE THE BAIT people. Rick Santorum bit. Romney has been avoiding Obama’s bait so far.

  • Good advice, Mr. Tapper. Mr. Tapper might be a liberal, but from what I hear he actually has integrity.

I am surprised that Mr. Kimmel didn’t understand how tasteless his joke is. I first thought it was about abortion, which is bad enough. But it really being about Mr. Santorum’s baby that died, that is absolutely repulsive. I never watched Mr. Kimmel‘s show before but I certainly won’t start now.

  • II consider 45% way high – he still has a fighting chance to be reelected. I just don’t understand that at all.

  • That is because is can be argued that the Jews ultimately won. The Jews have managed to survive as a culture. Has Rome or Babylon? No. Their descendents (Europeans and Iraqis) are still around but their culture has not survived. So the Romans and Babylonians lost.

  • I understand Mr. Beck’s point, and he does have a point. However, I think Ms. Longoria means that the US is CURRENTLY occupying what she believes is rightly Mexico’s, i.e. the western part of the US. That is they believe the US stole the western part of the US from Mexico. (Mr. Beck did touch on that mentioning Manifest Destiny.) I have heard that is not an uncommon attitude in Mexico and among some of Mexican descent in the US. I say if they want to play that game, where did Mexico get that land? (Spain) Where did Spain get that land? If there is any returning of land, neither Mexico or Spain are the rightful owners.

Most all land in the world had been “stolen” from someone at one time or another. There is no way it will ever be returned to the original owners or their direct descendants. In most cases the direct descendants can’t even be known to be returned to. People can either get over it and move on with their lives or let it eat at them for the rest of their lives and be miserable in the process.

  • I have no problem at all with negative ads as long as they are truthful AND not misleading. Often ads are “technically” true but are deliberately intended to lead the viewer to believe something that is untrue. That is the same as a lie in my book – like Bill Clinton’s “that depends on what your definition of ”is“ is”.
