  • The Roman Catholic Church ain’t what she used to be.Having said that, unlike Islam, which is based on the concept of fate, Roman Catholicism is based on the principle of perfection, an ongoing process which depends on the individual’s efforts, faith and outlook. Roman Catholics do believe that you “can determine your own fate”, at least their eternal fate, by their conscious choices and ensuing actions. The quasi “Roman Catholic” subculture of the Social Justice/Liberation Theology crowd are much more interested in this world than the next. They are more fixated on Caesar than on God which then begs the question as to whether “Roman Catholic” is merely only how they loosely classify themselves.

  • The Osteens are buffoons for buffoons. Nowhere in Judeo-Christian Sacred Scripture does it say that being homosexual (gay) OR heterosexual (straight) OR bisexual (adventurous) is a sin. It does specify sexual acts that are sinful regardless of sexuality. Someone should clarify to the Osteens the difference between temptation and sin.

  • If some strange woman walks up to you and claims to be your wife what do you do? You deny it and tell her that she is NOT your wife. That is all anyone is doing here: stating that Mormons aren’t Christians regardless or whether they say they are or whether some half-baked huckster like Joel Osteen pontificates that they are. It is done from love BTW, they are deluded. As an aside, I wonder how much it cost to have those frozen smiles surgically fixed onto the Osteens’ faces.

  • For Mormons, being “divine” or “god” is a function rather than an ontological state. For Mormons, the one they call “God the Father” is really an elevated man from another planet who became “divine” but not in the ancient Christian sense of “divinization” (as in the preaching of some of the Church Fathers, the Son became man so that the we might become the sons of God).

Gods, for Mormons, were mortals who became gods. Mormons hold that “God the Father” actually has a wife, a “Heavenly Mother”, with whom he procreated “Jesus Christ” who also acquired “divinity”. For Mormons, the “Holy Spirit” is also the offspring of parents. For Mormons, four gods guide the universe, three of whom form a sort of “trinity”. Mormons are not Christians. They use the same words Christians use, but they are not Christians.

  • Mormons do not have a Christian, Trinitarian religion. For Mormons, Christ is not the God/man in the sense that Christians believe. They are not just in error about the Christ’s Divine Person, as Arians were. They have an entirely different understand of some person they call Christ, more or less related to the historical Jesus and to the Christ of orthodox Christian doctrine. This is a fundamental point you must understand about Mormon beliefs and language: they use the same terms or words that Christians do, but they use them with a different meaning. If they use something that sounds like the Christian Trinitarian formula, they use all the terms in the formula with a different sense. They do not have the same concept of “God” and “divine” that Christians do, though they use the same words as Christians.

  • “Prepare yourself,” he told the crowd. “Put on the full armor of God. Because the battle is already raging and it is time for the servants of the Lord — of all faiths — to stand together and stand ready to love and do exactly what he tells us to do because, in the end, we win. We win.”

Presumably “servants of the Lord — of all faiths” can’t possibly “stand together” since one faith is doing the Lord’s will and the rest are clearly not. Mormonism is no different from Islam in that it uses the name “Jesus Christ” for it’s purposes, but the “Jesus Christ” of Mormonism as well as that of Islam is a figment of their pseudo-prophets’ imaginations. The terms are familiar to us but the meanings are something completely different from historical Christianity.

  • Although I tend to disregard most modern scriptural translations because the translators/editors have their own agendas, if the only objection to this translation is that the Greek is literally translated then I fail to see what all the fuss is about. For example “Jesus Christ” ( Ιησούς Χριστός) means “Joshua the Anointed” i.e., Joshua the Messiah. Angel ( άγγελος ) means “messenger”, etc. It always struck me as odd that in Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” that Latin and Aramaic were used when the Romans did not speak Aramaic nor did the Hebrews speak Latin. Greek was the lingua franca of the Mediterranean Roman Empire. Christ was not conversing with Pilate in Aramaic or Latin. They were speaking Greek. “Christians” are also “anointed ones.”

  • The fact of the matter is that Dr. Zuhdi Jasser is (and I admire him) a hybrid, a mutation. He is not considered a “good” Muslim by any Islamic authorities specifically because he does not endeavor to pattern himself on the pseudo prophet Mohammed. Mohammed is the ideal par excellence for all Muslims and if there is one thing that Mohammed stressed in his Koran is that Islam is not democratic. The world that Islam strives to found by incremental additions of real estate through invasion, subversion and theft is a theocracy not a democracy. It is true that America “Protestantizes” most religions that come here but Islam is a very hard nut to crack and I am of the opinion that it can not be cracked. A word to the wise: Few Americans know Arabic but most know the word “Mascara,” a feminine cosmetic. It’s Arabic, “maskara” — making snow over one’s eyes, deceive, mock, subterfuge, saying what one wishes to hear, smile and make “maskara.” Appearances can be deceiving.

  • I believe that is spelled “Hannibal.” Once again we see that even in this blatantly racist facsimile of Islam the core mentality of Islam still rears its ugly head. In Islam vengeance is a virtue not the pursuit of justice. There simply is no turning of the cheek, humility or forgiveness in Islam. Pride is paramount. Payback for any perceived slight is paramount. Farrakhan’s racist cult is a pathetic mutation of former Black Protestants who seethed at all the despicable White Christians whose ancestors supposedly owned their ancestors as slaves but ignorantly were oblivious to the historical fact that it was Muslim slave traders who sold them to the Whites in the first place. Islam fundamentally upholds the notion of slavery of anyone who is not Muslim. Black African animists (and Christians) were routinely sold as slaves in the markets of Cairo and Istanbul to Muslims. The next time you watch the film “Lawrence of Arabia” note the black slaves of Prince Faisal – this was as late as World War I. In any case had Trayvon Martin, a non Muslim, been let’s say Chinese, Farrakhan, as well as the other usual suspects who predictably seize any perceived race based incident to reaffirm their leadership credentials, would have been mute.

  • It is true that the Orthodox Church considers the homosexual act to be one of the most serious sins. What is hypocritical about this announcement of the patriarch is that his own bishops and clergy are full of practicing homosexuals even from the Soviet days when they could be blackmailed into compliance by the KGB or were themselves KGB agents like the patriarch’s predecessor(s). News articles in Moscow and Petersburg regularly deal with this.
