  • I am surprised at the Blaze taking sides with anyone saying that the GOP has no health care plan. When Obamacare was proposed, the GOP was shut out of all meetings and when the GOP came forward with their version of the bill that was only 230 pages as opposed to about 2000 pages as originally proposed by the House and Senate DUMBocrats. After all the revisions, it came in at over 1000 still, but if that had been the Republican version, it would have come in at less than 200 and perhaps little over 100.

But, the Republicans were IGNORED. As I said before, the open and transparent government that the DUMBocrats promised turned into exactly the opposite. The Democrats said, “Hey, we control things, so even though we promised one thing, we’re gonna do what career politicians always do – bait and switch.”

The GOP ought to bring back their old health care bill, revise it and try again after Obama is gone and they control the house and senate again.

  • An overdose of water is not called “drowning”, it’s called hyponatremia. Drinking too much water can cause an electrolyte imbalance thank can cause the body to shut down. Look it up.

  • I think this was a very good idea that was very poorly executed. This should have been treated just like any other drill or training event. This was like a lock down or fire drill at a school.

Think about it. When you have some big drill at school, there is some kind of warning, letters to parents, phone calls, etc. That way, when the actual drill happens, the kids aren’t scared out of their minds. If the school does random drills, kids and parents are notified at the beginning of the school year the same way.

I think that if the church had worked with parents on this and had informed kids, even the night of and required permission slips, I think it would have been just as educational and would have mitigated some of the risks including potential litigation. If this girl had been given the opportunity to opt out and did not, the church could have reduced their liability. In this case, the church is likely to get taken to the cleaners for a couple of bruised knees.

  • I’m tired of what the “leftist media continues to do to conservatives,” but I am also tired of what the Republican party continues to do to conservatives as well.

  • Chilling?! That was heartwarming and MOTIVATING!

    OORAH! MARINE CORPS!

  • It seems that she didn’t refuse ALL service, just A service. Is it discriminatory? I don’t think so. They went to a bakery and asked for a certain kind of cake decoration. The owner said, “We don’t provide that service.”

If they had just asked for a box of cupcakes, they probably would have been happily supplied. If they had asked for a plain wedding cake and bought the cake topper themselves, it probably would have been happily supplied. But they made a point of asking for a lesbian wedding cake and were told that service was not provided. That isn’t discriminatory, it just happens to be the practice of that business.

If you went to Burger King (a restaurant that serves hamburgers and even goes as far as to say you can have it your way) and asked for a Big Mac (a hamburger), you would be leave disappointed. Is Burger King discriminating against Big Mac lovers? No. They just don’t provide that service, but there is a restaurant that does. Just as there are bakeries that cater to homosexuals.

If a person owns a business, they should have the right to refuse service to anyone. I think it might be a good idea to have a disclaimer that says something to the effect of “We happily serve the homosexual members of our community, but we do not provide baked goods that are decorated to promote the homosexual lifestyle.”

    Or something like that.

He’s so cute. I want to take him home. Strap him to the roof of the car.

  • This quote shows why gun control won’t work:

Bloomberg continued, “I can tell you how to change it, just get Congress to come with me to the hospital when I’ve got tell somebody that their son or daughter, their spouse, their parent is not going to come home ever again. This past week, sadly, even though the murder rate in New York is so much lower than almost every big city, we still had a cop shot last week with a gun that somebody had even though the federal laws prohibited that person from having a gun.”

In other words, gun control means that only criminals and the government have guns. Law abiding citizens have no recourse to defend themselves. So my choices are liberty with guns or tyranny and victimization without. Hmmm… I think I will keep my guns. Thank you very much.

  • Newt Gingrich asked for permission after he was already cheating on his wife! That is unacceptable! The difference between Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton is that Slick Willy ultimately admitted his guilt, asked his wife’s forgiveness and they were reconciled. Newt not only lacked character in having an affair, he had two marriages end in divorce because of an affair. He didn’t admit wrongdoing, he blamed his wife for not sharing him. The man is DISGUSTING! I have a lot of respect for Rush, but the difference between Newt and Bill is that Bill showed more character in trying to repair his marriage.

By the way, a vote for Newt is a vote for Schrute
