  • I have canceled HBO and no longer depend upon the “Old Media.” I grew up earning money as a paperboy and read the paper daily during the 60′s. I took at face value what was reported either in the paper or on TV. No more. Know your reporter, and his/her agenda. Be able to distinguish fact from opinion. Then take what they say as information and make your own judgement. Be wary and do not be led astray by actors, athletes and celebreties that are less educated about the issues and portray themselves as a voice of authority. I no longer support their lifestyle by attending their movies or games or watching their programs. I invest the time and money I save helping others help themselves.

  • Sorry, resond = respond. I did not have my glasses on.

  • Another reason for families to consider Charter Schools. Teacher Unions hate them. Parents have a larger say in them, They spend less per student. Read the latest research on charter schools and be able to quote your source before you resond to this comment.

  • Fidelcashflow44,

Weddings are held in public places. I have attended some.

  • I hope she knows how her actions will affect her in life. If the prayer so offended her, how can she attend her friend’s wedding, baptize her children, celebrate Christmas or Easter? She can not attend the funeral of a loved one. All of these have reference to God, and she will be too offended. When she is most challenged and frustrated in life, she can only talk to herself, and not call on Him for help. She must fear death, because that is it. The show is over, and she has already had her 15 minutes of fame. So sad, I pray that later I read she has changed.

  • Fidelchashflo44,

An individual should not be able to infringe on the rights of the majority. She is infringing her atheistism upon the majority. We are guaranteed freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

The school should modify the prayer into a motto. A historical plaque could be placed below the motto citing the modification of the prayer and the individual who was infringed upon. At a later date it may be changed back into the prayer.

  • If she gets married later, will it be in a church?

  • Recently, with the nativity scenes that athiests protested, some athiests, Muslims, and nonChristians said they were not offended by the nativity scenes. Christians tolerate athiests and respect other religions, and there are members of other religions and athiests that tolerate Christians.
So where does one athiest get the right to speak for all athiests? Or one Muslim get the right to speak for all Muslims. If one athiest, Muslim, or nonChristian is offended by the display, another may be offended that Christians do not get the right to display.

What would the judge do if an athiest, Muslim or nonChristian comes forward and said I am offended by not allowing the display???? Since federal government recognizes Christmas as a federal holiday and no other religious holidays, then it can also allow displays of Christianity. The Constitution states “…freedom of religion…“ not ”freedom from religion.”

If the attack on Christianity continues, the athiests will have everyone working and students going to school on Christmas and Sundays. Thanksgiving will next be removed as a federal holiday, since athiests feel there is no one to give thanks to. Religious tax exemptions will be removed since athiests do not have religious institutions to benefit from property tax exemptions and IRS non profit status. Boy Scouts will not be able to pray to God….and the list goes on…

  • The OWS do not get it. YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!
The 99% do not get it. YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!

    90% of Americans work
9% of Americans are on unemployment because they worked (and should be looking to work again!)
1% of Americans do neither, they Occupy and demand benefits.
What happend to John Kennedy’s statement: “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”

No country has ever succeeded by taxing and spending itself into prosperity.

  • Play their game. If another seasonal display is needed in order to allow the nativity scene then on the opposite side of the courthouse display a large mirror with a sign that reads: This is for our athiests to view what they worship. And then wish them a “Happy Holiday!”
