  I’m not anti gay or homophobic. I understand the problem with trying to force someone to change against their will, and I don’t support that. I support counseling for people who think that they may be gay. How is providing counseling for gays who think they may be straight any different?

  ‘E’, you are still missing the point here. Offering Viagra doesn‘t go against the church’s beliefs, offering contraception to either men or women does. The church is simply saying that they won’t pay for it. That’s all. They are not asking for a law banning or preventing contraception. They are just not going to pay for contraception. It is not unreasonable to refuse to pay for something you don’t believe in. Now let’s suppose that an ins co offers a supplement to cover contraceptio, that the employees pay for out of their own pocket. If the church were to prevent this, then they would be guilty of interfering with the employees. This is why government has no place in health care. It subjects everyones lifestyle choices, belief, and privacy to public scrutiny. Gov has no place here.

  Contraception, and erectile disfunction are not the same. Does a woman’s ****** cease to operate without contraception? ED is a condition brought on by other factors beyond the mans control. If the church were to offer contraception to men and not women, that would be hypocritical. Offering Viagra is not a valid comparison.

  Sadly the GOP has lost their Libertarian pulse, and have been overrun by a combination of progressives, and social conservatives. It is time for the Republicans to redefine themselves (hint: Libertarian) or go the way of the Whigs.
