  • I sure wish some would get those chips off their shoulders and get a life. So he chose something he was familiar with to make a point. Personally, I would take it as a compliment to be called “the pick of the litter”. I am a dog owner and LOVE my dogs as do a majority of Americans!

  • I am glad the girls had a good time at what I hope was a fully private party… this could not have been sponsored by the school as an actual school function because it was held by a specific religious group. They are a private group of friends who attend the same school or possibly several schools? in the area who wish to share in the festivities similar to those attended by their friends. It was their choice not to attend the school sanctioned prom. It is their religious restrictions and personal choices that have kept them from participating in the school event.

Not every girl gets to go to the prom… I didn’t because I did not have a date.. no one invited me…. some just can’t afford it. So, just because you have to wear a head scarf or can’t dance … gee, how many proms have been missed out on in the countries in the Middle East?

  • Standard hospital procedure will not include any mention of anything that went wrong in the medical record. I am sure there is a a separate incident report that the patient and family are not aware was prepared of the event. The hospital keeps that private but it is there. Every medical person knows to NEVER write anything incriminating in the official medical record… it is drilled into all medical personel repeatedly how to NOT write things that can be interpreted and used in a lawsuit.

  • Every nurse and surgical team is tought the danger of allowing oxygen to collect under the surgical drapes. This is the result of high flow oxygen collecting during the procedure when appropriate precautions were not taken. I can’t understand how free oxygen was available, the patient should have had a secure airway such as intubated so there should not have been free available oxygen for this to happen…. mistakes were definitely made.

  • I bought a Chrysler 300 (a kinda fun car ) we took it to the gas station to fill it up and the dealership called to say they needed me to bring the car in for some agreed touch up paint work on some minor nicks in the paint. I immediately drove it in. Picked up the car a few days later with only a 1/2 tank of gas left! That was a few years ago. I was sooo angry and they just told me that I must have been confused about how much gas was in the car!

Two months ago when we are now paying a fortune for gas I filled up the same car with gas… $55 Drove home… the next morning I found oil in my driveway! something was very wrong… took the car to the repair shop…. repair work done in 4 days… they had the car over the weekend which was unusual.. I left it on a wednesday and they usually have it done by friday at the latest… I did not get it back until monday.. got my car back with less than a 1/4 tank of gas left and car smelling like an ash tray! Don’t try to tell me that someone was not joy riding in my car… they tried to tell me they were ‘test driving’ the car to make sure everything was OK… you don‘t have to drive 100’s of miles to test it!!!!! I can’t imagine where they took my car.. we are in the middle of nowhere… must have taken it on an out of town trip.

I have learned my lesson… write down the odometer readings!!!

  • Didn’t I read something recently about diabetes and the Obama administation?…. disability….

Since the Obama administation has elevated diabetes to a disability by patting itself on the back about appointing a supreme court justice with a ‘disability’ because she has dibates… it seems most businesses will have no problem meeting any required quotas since there are so many people with that disease. They may have to backtrack on that misstep once they realize their error.

  • GBTV, Netflix and Hulu Plus with my Roku….. what else can one ask for? I still have my cable but don’t have anything but regular cable… nothing extra so I can get my local stations and Fox News along with some of the basic stations…. no DVR, we still use VCR’s in our homes so we can share tapes. Do you know how difficult it is to find a working VCR now days!

  • Where did the original cash money go? Why did she get a check instead of the actual money they took from her? Wouldn’t they just give her the money she gave them if there is no crime it is not evidence of anything there is no reason for them to actually KEEP IT!

  • A “Free Speech Zone” In itself implies you do not have free speech otherwise. I was not aware the first ammendment had been overturned when I was not looking. The only way they can limit his right to free speech is to have their event on private property and limit who is invited to the event… if it is not open to the public.. only to an invited list.. then they can do what they want… public park…. Free speech, Free Bibles!

  • Texas Hospital Bans Overweight Employees

    April 4, 2012 at 11:27pm

I have been an RN for 26 years… yes I am overweight too.. they would not hire me probably. I have had several back injuries because I was always the strongest one available to do most of the heavy lifting… those skinny little nurses can’t do anything but stand around and look cute and cry about how difficult it is do do the heavy lifting. I have never been afraid of the work nor have I been unable to do anything needed even when in severe pain… I just do it… then go home in misery. It’s part of the job. Pain does not stop a nurse from doing her job. (at least it does not stop one who cares)

I have taken the last year off work because of moral issues in the profession… now I wonder if I want to go back if this is what is happening…. really???? You have to be kidding me… you don’t want me saving your life??? I can … ICU, CCU, Cath Lab… lots of experience here… my weight makes me unacceptable to care for you….
