  • Not to overgeneralize, but the same answer applies here as it would to most freedom vs protection conflicts. That is: have less regulation, less laws, less rules, and more deterring consequences. I don‘t want big brother telling me I can’t do something, even if i dont and never woud do it anyway. but if someone esle does it, and it directly causes me or mine harm, throw the book at ‘em. i teach high school, and to placate blind parents we create all these rules and standards, but then to placate them further we ‘mitigate’ the attached condequences. this creates a contradiction that almost encourages the action we were trying to end. legalize pot or not…doesn’t matter. prosecute the pothead that hurts someone to the fullest.

  • I’m so proud to be TEXAN, honored to be AMERICAN and humbled to be CHRISTIAN

  • you didn’t see Christians protesting Muslims after Fort Hood was shot up. That really was a display of religious intolerance. The only backlash was the more than deserving legal one. The nativity hurts no one, forces no one to believe or practice something they don’t agree to, nor in any way insults the beliefs of non believers. THERE’S NO HARM in here. so why protest – must be alterior motives.

  • i teach high school – it is a daily chore trying to compel teenagers to at least stand for the pledge, much less recite it. it is sad to see patriotism wane one year after another.
