  • Usually when it comes down to an issue of a bus versus a group of people, also known in the driving world as “pedestrians,” the group of people have the priority of place. Instead, from the second her foot touched the ground when she got off that bus, she blamed everyone else except the actual person driving the bus. The guy speaking was white so he was obviously a racist because he did not move for the black bus driver. Oh wait, he’s a sexist also since she is a female bus driver. I’m also pretty sure that he is part of the 1% who needs to pair his fair share. Let’s be honest, no poor people can afford to build casinos that provide jobs for people – so it’s clear – he’s the 1%. His hair is parted sideways also, which as everyone knows is how Bush would comb is hair. So in the end, it is Bush’s fault and the 1%, because this guy is obviously a racist and a sexist.

  • I love the fact that her FIRST words off the bus after SHE backed into a truck were to blame a group of pedestrians, who, when it comes to a bus versus a group of people, should have priority of place. But, instead, the second she stepped off the bus she was blaming someone else. Its always somebody else’s fault. I’m pretty sure Bush was somehow responsible, too.

  • “There were some words and language that seemed to be inappropriate as far as the parents and some of the kids were concerned,” [the superintendent] said.

This is what the situation is all about. What this statement seems to say is, “Why I and other personally do not find this material inappropriate, apparently it turns out that the words and language seemed inappropriate [and here is the kicker] AS FAR AS PARENTS AND SOME OF THE KIDS WERE CONCERNED.”

In other words, “it was inappropriate to them, but to us, not so much.” That’s all. It was not an accident nor was it a mistake. “We were just trying to get them to read,” he says. That’s laughable!

Parents, get involved, stay involved — you hold 1000 times the influence than that of a teacher.

  • I’m a Christian, and I’m a conservative. But Mr. Chomsky, um, no. Thanks.

  • the problem is assuming it is a “bible believing church” which it seems that it isn’t

  • I live outside of Raleigh, NC and know exactly where this church is and on what it, and most of its congregants, are really focused. It is a typical liberal, progressive church. Nancy Petty most recently made headlines by protesting along with the NC chapter of the NAACP some of the school board policies made in Wake County. It comes as no surprise then that this church and Petty essentially follow along on the liberal agenda.

This comes as no surprise. She is an openly gay female “Baptist” “pastor” and so it should come as no surprise that she is for gay marriage. Otherwise she would have to admit that she herself is wrong in her lifestyle. Thus she is seeking not only the “legitimization” of homosexuality but of her very way of life.

Sadly, she is herself led astray and others are following her. This issue will not go away anytime soon and, as much as I hate to admit it, it seems like those who believe that homosexuality is not morally acceptable are going to continue to lose these types of battles. I am not being pessimistic, but rather realistic.

This fight will eventually come to my home state, and it will probably come to yours, if it hasn’t already.

  • “While critics remain outraged, the district argues that freedom of religion trumps the Education Act and states that the district has an “obligation to accommodate faith needs.” Since Muslims must pray at a certain time during the day on Fridays, the district believes it is simply providing an avenue to ensure that young people can maintain their religious beliefs and practices. In the past, students would leave the school to worship at outside mosques.”

By that logic, since the apostle Paul says, “Pray without ceasing,” then Christians should be allowed to pray at school any time of day, go to a special room where they can be led by a pastor or youth pastor. Jesus also charged the disciples with the Great Commission, a very core tenet of the Christian religion. One of the most basic forms of expression of the Great Commission is evangelism, therefore students should be allowed to actively and openly evangelize on campus.

I’m certain if someone made this argument there would be no controversy. It would be a simple, “No.” And that would be the end of it.

  • So, I’m glad the guy riding in the scooter had enough physical strength to walk around, find the guy, punch him the face and what not… I‘m not saying he’s a phony because he obviously looks like he has trouble walking. I just thought it was funny the way he shot up out of the chair and walked down the aisle, and then he followed the guy. On another note, since this guy is… well, a guy. I wonder if he’s ever farted around his wife. I mean they look like they‘ve been married for a while and you’re gonna tell me that in all those years he never let one squeak by while is wife was sitting next to him? He may be a perfect gentlemen and I could be wrong, but the odds are… not in his favor.

  • [Its leaders] say women should be “better than a first-class prostitute”.
That way, the men are less likely to stray or resort to violence, they say.

Or, how about the men be better than sixth-century marauders, treating their women with dignity and honor as their co-created helper? The logic of this group is asinine. These women remind me of the girls in high school who would date the worst guy in the school and no matter what you did to persuade them he was the worst guy, he was still their dream guy and would do anything to please him.

Muslim women, you deserve better than being the orgasmic pleasure device of a man.

  • This is insanity. First, Israel is a sovereign nation who seeks to defend itself. Second, issuing an ultimatum to devolve to previous borders is bad form. Undoubtedly the underlying assumption is that Israel should not have the land they have and thus should revert to the 1967 borders. People argue that Israel “took” the land from the Palestinians, and maybe they did, that’s beside the point. The issue, however, is that this is bad logic. Can you image Britain issuing an ultimatum that we revert to the borders of the colonial, pre-Revolution days? Why not? Our fathers fought the battles and our side was victorious, but that doesn’t really matter so we should just revert to the old, pre-Revolution borders. In other words, this policy is ludicrous. It is a poorly drawn up, back-handedly smug tactic. In the foreseeable future, who do does the administration think will be an ally in the Middle East? Could it be Iran? Certainly not. The fastly being Islamized state of Egypt? Laughable. This administration’s unrestrained cooperation with secularist, multiculturalist Europe is driving it to betray one of our strongest allies in the Middle East. The arrogance of this administration in issuing an ultimatum to Israel will give fuel to Islamic militants and, instead of helping, will strain an already fragile situation in the Middle East.
