Why is there a citizen vote/primary if the none of their votes will count? It makes no sense in my mind that the delegates vote however they want in the first round regardless of how their state voted. The consitution gives power to the people. Letting delegates vote their own personal vote in the first round instead of being bound to their states vote sounds very unconstitutional to me.

I’m not a gambling man, but if I was, I’d be putting all my chips on the fact that the delegates first round vote will be bound. It is constitutional because it is the voice of the people!

  • West Coast! I agree with you! Wow, see we can find common ground!

He details out 800 billion to cut right of the bat. I know it’s not the 1 Trillion Paul would do, but it’s a good start. The main difference between Romney and Paul is more philosphical.

I tend to agree with Romney and I liken our country to a person that is on life support in the ICU. That ICU is costing more money to keep that person alive than the person or that persons family can probably afford. This person is also so overdosed and addicted to so many drugs and entitlements at the same time they are on life support.

Our ultimate goal is to get it off of the costly life support and the insidious addictive and deadly drugs. However that person is so weak that by cutting the life support (the fed) and the drugs (entitlement programs) all at once, that person would quickly go into shock and die.

Paul wants to cut it all now and all at once. In a perfect utopia, so would I, but I think it would kill our country.

I tend to agree with Romney‘s approach in that we’ve got to strengthen the body (small business and the middle class) and by making smaller more realistic cuts, putting the country on some good physical therapy programs and workout plans, that we can get the country strong enough to start making more drastic cuts (ending the fed, eliminate entitlements), but it will take time!

That’s my two cents and my rationale… I certainly don’t know everything, but it makes sense to me.

  • What are you talking about? He has talked about huge cuts… he even cut 30% of the MA state government and laid off thousands of state employees. Took a 2 billion defecit and created a surplus! All without raising taxes… he did it through CUTS! That is exactly his plan for Washington.

  • Those are some sweeping generalizations there Mutiny! I’ve generally liked your comments, you don’t seem like one of the crazies, but a lot of those comments are huge generalizations, comments out of context, and assumptions on your part.

I can see where you are coming from, but you are doing what the left does and what the RP crazies do. Taking a few small points and making sweeping assumptions and out of context statements about those points.

  • Tell us something we don’t know! We’ve been screaming this for years! Hence the grass roots movements! Any congressman or woman, any Senetor that doesn’t have the “guts” to deal with this, needs to be ousted!

  • @ Soy

I honestly would have… he has been so grossly misrepresented it’s past hilarious to me. I’ll admit that him being a mormon made me dig deeper than I would have with him and what I found astonished me… He be more like Reagan then any president we’ve ever had. He has changed positions on a few things, but when he’s changed, he’s changed only once. The rest he’s been grossly misrepresented on. I dug in with my research more and probably gave him a better look because he was mormon… otherwise, I probably would have stopped where most of you did and just stuck with the you tube video’s.

Romney is much much more than what is reported. He completed eliminated the deficit in MA. He built them a surplus. He cut goverment by 30% in MA and got rid of 1000′s of state government positions and jobs. He understands the economy, he understands free markets, he loves America, he is God-fearing, he loves his wife and his family. He loves liberty, the constitution, and the founding fathers. He is a good man. So is Paul. But Paul has always fallen short and would never have a chance, even if I agree with 95% of what he says.

  • @ Crooksy

I’ll make you a deal… if Romney loses, I’ll never post on this site again, but if Paul loses you have to make the same promise! DEAL?!?!?!?!

  • Come now Crooky… let‘s get you back to your room where you won’t hurt yourself or anyone else. The doctor and therepist, will be along shortly.

  • Sorry Football Lady, this Crooks guy is a thorn in all our sides! You’ll learn to ignore him. He’s like that pesky annoying little yapping dog.
