What about Gladiator? A slave who stood up against a corrupt government .

  • I live above Wilkes Barre. They are saying right now the river is expected to crest at 40.7 feet, with the river rising at the rate of more than a foot per hour. This is at levels the same as 1972 when hurrican Agnes came to town, and the Wyoming Valley was devastated. There are a lot of poor people in Wilkes Barre, with few resources. We aren’t New Orleans, but poor is the same no matter where you live and I ask that instead of making this a political issue, or a joke, that you take a moment and pray for the people who are being displaced today

  • So terribly sad. I hope the attention this story is getting prompts Russia to do something about their aging fleet immediately, so that these good people did not have to die in vain. RIP.

  • So….isn’t it racist to assume that a black man who disagrees with other black men MUST be A)taking money to do so, or B) some kind of prisoner to evil white people? Mr. Cain is a highly intelligent, successful man with the ability to think for himself and form his own opinions. Ms. Garafolo seems to be the one being held hostage to prejudice.

  • What an unbelievable ass.

  • Well said.

  • Looking at gay marriage from purely a Constitutional standpoint, our government is denying gays and lesbians their constitutional rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We have no more right to force our ideas of right and wrong on people who believe differently than we do, than atheists have to take God out of our country because they don’t believe. I know many of you believe homosexuality is a sin, but ask a homosexual, and they will tell you they have always known they were “different”, I mean, who would choose to be gay, and be ostracized, abused and harmed, if they could be “normal”? I don‘t believe it’s a choice, and I don’t believe someone should be condemned to hell by judgemental people for ONE aspect or their total being. There are “good” gays people, just as there are “evil” straight people. I was taught to believe that God doesn’t hate anyone. How He judges homosexuals in the afterlife will be between Him, and them. It is not for us to judge. We are to treat others as we want to be treated: with respect, dignity, equality. For all. I am not a troll. I usually agree with most of what I read here, but is hypocritical to decry the rights of gay people, while we say our own Constitutional rights are being eroded….and…anyone kissing in public is bad manners. Keep your love life in your bedroom and your nose out of mine.

  • Actually, one of the men who helped take Loughner down was carrying a weapon. The thing anti-gun people don’t understand is this: responsible gun owners know how and when to use their weapons. Obviously, firing more bullets into this crowd would not have helped the situation. Had Loughner still been firing, and a clear shot was available to one of the heros of this day, no doubt someone would have stopped him from killing so many innocent people.

  • These images are disgraceful. This is what happens in the disposable age, no one appreciates the blood sweat and tears that go into making anything–even a country. Even these brats were required to serve a couple of years in the military before they received their free education, they might appreciate more what their forefathers have done for them.
Charlie Gilmour may be sorry, but the sad, simple fact is, this wouldn‘t have happened if he hadn’t been out there with an out of control mob.
