  • Get a mac and you won’t have to deal with this crap.

  • @SoNick:
“or to any gay police officer, security guard, fireman, top athlete, etc. I have nothing against jokes, but perpetuating the stereotype of gay people as effeminate, limp wristed wusses just proves the ignorance of the person telling the joke.”

Sorry dude, those are the exceptions that prove the rule. Most homosexual males are very effeminate. I am from the SF bay area and have known a ton of gays, and still have many gay friends–by and large, they’re all feminine.

  • Ventura was never a SEAL.

  • Ventura was never a SEAL. Ventura was a UDT frogman, but never a SEAL. One thing’s for certain: any way you slice it, Ventura’s a kook!

  • “I can’t believe you just called for the assassination of two member of Congress in a public forum.”

Dolt. The author was not calling for anyone’s assassination, merely using an example to point out the hypocrisy of the Mumia supporters. Buy a clue…

  • *****–head-choppers (i.e., muhammadans)

    Dumb filter…

  • “It‘s statements like Gingrich’s that makes people say ‘all Republicans are racist.’”

That‘s because stupid progressives don’t understand the concept of “race.” Do you dumb twats not realize that historically the Jews and Arabs are of the same bloodline? Kind of makes it hard to cast aspersions of “racism” when you have a deeper understanding of the background of both peoples involved. Additionally, the lands involved were a part of Transjordan. The Arabs in Israel are Jordanians, not “Palestinians;“ the ”Palestinians” are nothing more than Jordanians who settled west of the Jordan River while under British colonial rule. The very name “Palestine” (the Roman pronunciation of “Philistine”) was created by the Romans–well before the ******* invaded–as a means of insulting the conquered Jews.

  • …Ahem….

*7th century cutthroats. You are giving them too much credit.

  • “I don‘t think a person’s ethnicity should have an influence over their status or advancement in society. That’s why I support Affirmative Action.”

Can you say, “oxymoron?” Affirmative action ENSURES that ethnicity will have an influence over a person’s status or advancement in society.

    Consider this:
Who would you rather be represented by in court? A lawyer who graduated top of both his high school and undergrad class, or a lawyer who was given preferential acceptance status due to race and graduate mid-pack?

Who would you rather perform surgery on your loved ones? A doctor who was accepted to and graduated from Harvard medical because he was the best, or a doctor who barely eked in with the help of some race credits and graduated near the bottom?

Who do you want shooting baskets on your favorite team? A point guard who got in because he was the best, or a point guard who got in because the team needed to fill some stupid, arbitrary quota?

It’s the same damn thing, no matter how you spin it. If my daughter needs surgery to remove a cyst from her neck, I want the best GD doctor I can get–I don’t give a damn if he (or she, for that matter) is purple with yellow polka dots. The last thing I want is some quota-filler performing surgery on my loved ones. Hell, if anything we should be more quick to apply affirmative action to sports than real life, because in the end, whichever team wins the game isn’t a life or death matter.

  • Mace:

So, because minorities–more specifically blacks–excel at athletics, the playing field should not be leveled to encourage participation by students from other ethnic groups. On the other hand, affirmative action should be applied in the realm of academia so that minority students–predominantly blacks–can gain access to programs that their lack of intrinsic ability would have otherwise denied them. Is this what you’re saying? If so, please explain.

Additionally, you need to qualify your statement that “academics and athletics are apples and cinder blocks;” your arbitrary statement does not confer fact upon itself merely by your utterance. Personally, you seem to be suffering from cognitive dissonance.

Do you have so little faith in black folks that you feel they will always need a hand up? Are they not smart enough to “make it” on their own accord? To me, affirmative action is overtly racist.
