    Just curious why the slides go from dates 1,000 to 100 B.C. to 600 A.D. to 800 A.D. to 43 A.D.? Shouldn’t slide 2 be 800 A.D. and slide 3 be 600 A.D.?

Yes corporate cronism is rampant in our country. But remember it takes 2 to tango. If the pols weren‘t in bed with them it wouldn’t be happening. We can’t lump our ire just on the gianormus multi-national corporations. We also have to single out all the corrupt senators and congressmen that enable these companies and then profit off of them. Of course that will weed out most of the people on Capitol Hill.

  • Having children of my own this was just heart wrenching to watch. I keep wondering how a 2 year old could have been left unattended in a place like that and why the video never shows a parent come to the childs aid.

  • No, this is what happens when secular humanism takes hold. This is what happens when cultures lose their morality. Communism plays a role in that process through the removal of a cultures religion. Religion that is often at the core of a cultures morality. Additionally, communism removes individuality and reduces people to a mere part of a collective. This is not just an “Asian” problem and I’m certain many Japanese and Koreans would take umbrage with your claim. Especially North Koreans.

“Lets see, considering 15 of the 19 hijackers of 9/11 were Saudi’s, and we found Osama in Pakistan, I guess I would have to say… THAT I WOULDN’T START BACK-TO-BACK ILLEGAL WARS IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN!”

Nice revisionist history there. What difference does it make what country the 9/11 hijackers are citizens of. Are you trying to suggest we invade Saudi Arabia!? They were trained and supplied by Al Qaeda who’s base of operation was in Afghanistan. The only reason we found Bin Laden in Pakistan is because we chased him there. I agree that Iraq may not had been the right place to go but it did provide a theater for us to fight a proxy war with Iran. Iran is the true backer/exporter of most terrorism. And that’s exactly what happened. In the process we liberated the Iraqi’s from a pretty brutal dictator. And no those wars were not illegal. The were approved by congress. We need to operate with facts people not hyperbole!

  • The other thing that Jesus did was to teach people how to fish not how to beg. We need to teach and equip people to do for themselves not expect others to do it for them.

But here in lies the problem when you try and kill God with your secular humanism you kill charity. Statistically speaking, liberal left wing democrats don’t give to charity (yes I’m looking at you John Edwards, poster child for self absorption). And so when you have a society or a portion of society that doesn’t believe in Christ and Christian principles you have a society that is increasingly descending into selfishness. So the only way for that society to help the poor is to mandate it. I have a better idea. Why don’t we turn to Christ and use his plan instead. It’s a way better plan and has been for eons. Not only does his plan help the poor better but it helps families better and thus the overall health of the society. The alternative is selfishness and decadence and we all know what happened to Rome when that became the norm.

  • I remember being 22 and part of this whole “scene” with the drugs and drinking, the partying, the pseudo-intellectual discussions and the anti-establishmnet behavior. That was 1987 and things haven’t changed much. Now I’m 46 and looking at these kids and seeing myself and realizing how mixed up I was. I mean I used to think Jerry Brown was the answer (apparently California still does). But this is what happens when you’re young, educated, idealistic and raised by liberal well to do parents.

All you see is what is wrong with the world. It so easy to find the negatives, it’s easy to be critical. Especially when you don‘t realize there’s theory and then there’s application. They think making everyone equal (i.e. socialism/communism) is the natural progression of democracy. Sounds good on paper perhaps. But in application it strips away self determination, individuality, excellence and independence. It strips away our humanity and turns us into automatons. And it certainly doesn’t preclude corruption (see USSR). It’s much easier to tear down a system and destroy it than to create one that is fair and just and that enourages those human qualitites in each of us. A representative democracy based on a capitalist economy and Christian morals is by far the best system the world has ever seen.

The problem is how do you get these indoctrinated youth (see Horowitz’s The Professors) to realize this and stop fueling this anti-American under current? It starts with us th
