  Nope…”the First Amendment protects parodies of public figures as long as they could not be reasonably taken as true.” Since that actually WOULD be true, it wouldn’t be a protected parody…just a sad reality.

  I live with a computer geek too and I get the GBTV shows just fine, no matter what time of day I decide to watch them.

  I DO however get MUCH better/faster download spooling etc when I’m actually plugged into my router rather than relying on a“wireless” signal on my laptop. Just a cheap Ethernet cable improves my speed a buttload.

  Your reception is only as good as your media card, your ISP and your connection etc.

  Wanna hear something hilarious? I just read on Drudge that somehow OWS got the Pasadena Police department to let them enter a “float” at the end of the Rose Parade-AFTER all the other floats and bands have passed by. It’s a giant octopus symbolizing the “monster” of Wall Street and it’s “tentacles” reaching into our lives and homes.

  How is that funny? Well….human nature is predictable-they naturally associate things-and people and groups often become known by nicknames that come from the the images associated with them. AND, any marketing person will tell you that you need to be CAREFUL that the images you want to use against someone else don’t end up being associated with YOU….right?

  I propose that from this moment on, we start calling OWS protesters simply “Occupus”. *evil grin*

  I ONLY stumbled across it BY ACCIDENT while trying to find the most effective way to express what I’m thinking and feeling and experiencing instead of falling prey to the distractions and arguments and debates and endless opinions. (The article calls it something like drowning in the waterfall-of information etc)

  YES! I DO feel like I‘m drowning in a waterfall and I’m BEYOND tired of that feeling!

  So then I started ASKING everyone I’ve met since “Have you ever heard of the term ”wicked problem“ or ”social messes”???” So far today….NOT ONE of them has. So now I want to ask a much larger “sample” of people the same question-

  Have you EVER heard of any of this?

  I’m overjoyed to know that the “experts” not only came up with a way to define what we are ALL experiencing, but ALSO have come up with ways to fight it that make perfect sense! But I’m MAD AS HELL-that in 30+ years since they did it, that this concept AND it’s tools HAVE NOT BECOME COMMON KNOWLEDGE to “we the people”????

  WHY…for the love of ALL that is holy, hasn’t this knowledge and understanding been TRANSMITTED to as many American citizens as possible? ESPECIALLY from those who are “social” movement people?????
