  • @WATCHINGAMERICADIE: THE Jews (?!) are destroying this country?? You’ve got to be kidding me.

  • Sometimes I wish a liars pants would really catch fire… that way everybody would know instantly.

  • I think it’s also rather offensive that the last link (the complete video) starts with a promotion of an anti-semitic book by the Nation of Islam.

  • I didn’t know that there was a need for a Black National Anthem… I thought one was good enough for everybody, but I guess I was wrong. I wasn’t raised in the US and this is rather strange to me…

  • Concerning Pres. Obama, I don’t think it is important if he is a Christian or not. He will claim to be one until he leaves office and I hope that’ll be very soon.

Concerning Mitt Romney, I don‘t think we are and may never be in a position to judge this man’s religion as being Christian or non-Christian.

Part of my family is Mormon and as far as I can see they believe in Jesus Christ and try to serve him with all their might. Whether or not they are wrong in his picture of him or in their interpretation of Scripture or whether they are adding where nothing should be added are theological issues that shouldn’t be part of the criteria of being a Christian.

Apart from that: Who cares what church Romney goes to as long as he makes a better president than the current one?
I am not at all disturbed by the religious backgrounds of our candidates be they Baptist, Mormon or Catholic. According to some you can declassify all of them as Christians, but who cares?

I will support any candidate who will go up against B. Obama in the coming election! When the candidate has been agreed upon I will support him, be this man a Mormon, a Baptist or a Catholic!

  • I know I probably live in a hot spot simply because I could take the metro into DC… that’s how close I am to the capital. On the other hand I could get killed by a drunk driver anywhere in the US just as well.

  • Honestly, I don’t understand why anybody would get enraged about this. I have had the misfortune to suffer through 5 miscarriages so far and I would have gladly taken the chance to take a picture with my baby in a way the Duggar family did, had it been possible. These pictures are beautiful and they are a wonderful way to commemorate this girl who might have been.
I don‘t understand why anybody would complain about this family’s way of dealing with this tragedy. Nobody goes ahead and criticizes other families for the way they grieve or come to term with losses. Why on earth would this case be any different? Because there are cameras on them? These cameras don‘t take away this families humanity and they shouldn’t take away ours.

  • They could have used La marcha real (“The Royal March”) which is the national anthem of Spain… or sung any other song in Spanish… But this looks too much like indoctrination to me.

  • I wonder how he wants to determine who is a Zionist and who isn’t. I don’t have my religion or my political ideals written in my passport and I am neither Israeli nor American.

  • It’s a public street. If I wanted to go out and pray in public, I wouldn’t want to be fined and I am certainly not a Muslim. While I do think that they should make a law that prohibits the hindrance of traffic flow and guarantees that they don‘t pose a security risk by blocking of streets with their numbers I don’t think anybody should ban public prayer. Let them pray as long as there is enough room for all others to pass them and go home or wherever they want to go.
If a Jew wants to wear a skullcap, he should be able to do so and if a Christian wants to wear a cross this should be the same. Int’s not like they could really become dangerous by doing so. Full hijab might be an issue (as it is already illegal in many universities in the Middle East to stop men from entering female dormitories) since one can’t even tell the difference between male and female…
Public prayer should be a non-issue… are they also going to prosecute every Muslim who walks the streets with prayer beads and every Catholic who prays the rosary? When will they prosecute a Jew who sits in a cafe with a Siddur? How long will it take for them to prohibit the public display of a Qur’an or a Bible? When will it be illegal to read the Torah at a bus stop or on the subway?
