  • The gay thing, no problem. The no booze outside of the home part would have me running though.

    In reply to chrishw.

My oldest son has Asperger’s as well and math is just killing him. Luckily, our state cannot fail him for it because it is directly related to his being ASD. Of course we didn’t find out about the law until after they held him back a year and moved him to three (soon four) different schools.

  • The 10 Commandments are the foundation of civil law? Really, which commandments would that be? Let’s break it down, shall we:
Is there a federal law stating their is only one god? No
Is there a federal law against making graven images? No
Is there a federal law about taking the lord’s name in vain? No
Is there a federal law making it illegal to work on Saturday and to not observe the Sabbath? No
Is there a federal law requiring you to honor your parents? No
Murder is against the law (yay, you got one so far)
Is there a federal law against adultery? No
Stealing is a crime (that’s two)
Falsifying statements is a crime (that’s three out of nine so far)
There is no crime against coveting what others have

So, it looks like that only three of ten Commandments are actually laws in this nation. Now how does that make it the “foundation of civil law” again?

  • So if age is what makes it true, then wouldn’t those religions older than Christianity (relatively young among others) be the true faith. Perhaps Odin or Zeus is the proper name of god, or even Chronos or one of the Hindu gods. Just because the ancients believed it, doesn’t make it true.

  • I’ve asked “Him” several times and never once received an answer. That fact, coupled with my observations of the world around me, leads me to believe that there is no god, and if there is, he has no hand in this world today.

  • Do unto others…

  • Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’

  • Ah, North Carolina; where it’s legal to marry your first cousin, as long as they aren’t gay. Gotta love that southern hospitality, with a dash of incest.

  • To all of the sheep who claim that “A vote for Johnson is a vote for Obama”, I am reminded of an old quote from a great American:
“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”
    John Quincy Adams
Those who vote for someone because of party alone is truly wasting their vote as they have little to no principles to stand on or stand behind.

  • Will they offer classes on the Torah or the Koran? If the law is not inclusive, it will be shot down faster than an Iraqi Scud.
