  Good grief. Believe me, I am no lover of islamists. But where does this woman find the authority to interfere with a legal act of harvesting an animal, for whatever purpose.

  Face it. Any of us who consume meat have participated, tacitly, in the slaughter of animals. Slitting the throat is as humane a way as any to harvest the animal.

  I am a Christian and my religion makes it clear that the sacrifice for me and my brothers and sisters has already been made through the crucifixion of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. However, for many years prior to his willing sacrifice, the chosen people sacrificed to God the Father in repentance of their sins. We have all sinned and a blood sacrifice is required.

  Unfortunately for the animals involved in Sunrise, their sacrifice is useless. Humane? Yes. Of any value to anyone’s soul? No.

  So, these protestors who are taking over private property, living off someone else’s dime (and, btw, if they are college students who should be in class, they are living off the tax payer’s dime while NOT doing what they are supposed to be doing to get that dime — attending classes), getting themselves arrested and have no coherent goal or message are legitimate, but the Tea Partiers, who paid their own way, cleaned up after themselves and didn’t cause hassles for the police are NOT legitimate, a small splinter group?

  The world is turned upside down.

  Maybe these people think that the government should provide jobs. But wait…if we destroy the corporations, and all the salaries they provide (large and small), where will the TAXES come from to pay the people who work for the government?

  Check out Greece. That’s what happens when there are more takers than creaters of real earnings.

  At least in the 60s they had a coherent idea of what they were protesting against. These people don’t have a clue about what they want…just some vague, fuzzy, feel good wish.

  Gary, While I agree that nothing good comes from the NEA. That is the Teachers’ Union. It is the DOE (Department of Education) that has had its budget balloon in the past 10 years.

  Both are worse than worthless. When the DOE was created our school systems were much more highly rated across the world. Then we got the federal government involved, let the unions dictate agendas and our school systems are the laughing stock of the world’s developed nations.

  Get rid of the Dept. of Ed. Stop listening to the NEA. Let communities decide what is important for education in their communities. Then we might just about have it right.

  A cell phone? What are you going to do with a cell phone? Call the police? They can come and draw a chalk line around your body.

  If you are concerned, when you go outside carry a weapon. Who said anything about having it holstered. If you perceive a threat don’t go unprepared. The bad guys are plenty prepared.
