  As a young man in 1970, 19 yrs old, the company I worked for in PA was a US Steel union shop. The Union made us go on strike over .25 cents per hour. ON and On the strike continued until the company closed its doors and went out of business. I saw many men with 20 and 30 years of service out of work with nothing to show for it. My brother in law was one of them. I ended up going into the Navy and did twenty years. Never went on strike and we were treated fairly in the USN with out a friggin Union.

  I am now in my 60′s taking care of a severely handicapped son who is on Medicaid. He has been severely handicapped since birth. If I lived in a state that forced me to pay union dues because I cared for my son I would be a pissed off SOB. I personally think that all unions are a burden on our society and freedoms.
