  • Geraldo has never been a good addition to Fox News. I wish that they would give him the boot and put someone like Judge Alex in his place. Judge Alex has been a steady, reasonable voice in the outrageous trial of the mother who killed her baby. It would be interesting to have him on for an hour or two on weekends and to replace Geraldo on O’Reilly and all the other programs now defiled by the words of Geraldo.

  • As usual, your headline is totally wrong. The jury did not find that Casey did not murder her daughter; they found that the prosecutors did not prove that she did so. They must have overlooked a lot of things to get there, but that was the verdict, not that this mother is innocent.

  • “sexualy” — should be “sexually”

  • Ditto!

  • I had a houseful of family heirlooms and lived for a decade without cash to buy more than macaroni for meals because I couldn’t bear to dispose of those “things.” When I had to start selling some of the better items just for property tax money, it was a huge relief. My resolve to take all of the rest of furnishings with me to my new home also happily proved to be unfeasible. Through donations to thrift shops and libraries, etc., I was able to winnow it down to several boxes of memorabilia and a couple of shelves of china and glassware. Most of that will go when I can overcome my lingering need for “comfort” bonds with the past.

We have become a nation of collectors, when we should be stripping down to the necessities and living in the present with an eye on the future, prepared for whatever may befall us and willing to find joy in freedom and nature and human relationships. Instead of needing more room for our computers and all our equipment and clothes and shoes, etc., and instead of surrounding ourselves with pets, we must learn to surround ourselves with those we love and we must reach outward to love more and more people, especially those who are unlovable.

  • Lovely home.
I watch the home segments on HGTV and realize that Americans and now many “middle class” people from around the world have forgotten what it means to be happy with what you have. It’s all about granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and hard-wood floors and spacious master suites with jetted garden tubs and double sinks and manrooms and home offices with a view and three-car garages and huge backyards and multiple decks. First-time homebuyers turn up their noses at bedrooms that are twice the size of any I ever had and “require” having a kitchen island from which to inteact with their guests at all the parties they will be throwing. I often question how two twenty-somethings with ordinary jobs can afford $500,000 homes, but they seem to be able to. Of course, many of the couples are unmarried and those who are have only one child — to accommodate their lifestyle. Many require a fenced yard for a pet, as they don’t anticipate having any children. Very sad. I would prefer to have everyone live in this home — as some have suggested BHO would prefer us to do — if it would mean that we would all wake up and find out what truly matters.

Those, like Martha Stewart, who urge us to spend our invaluable time on crafts and collections of things, are only adding to our eventual misery when we will have no money. No one will want them and they will be throw into a dumpster. I like the style of the family in this video. I bet they are truly h

  • Surely, it is time to impeach this guy! If we wait until 2012, there will be nothing left to govern. I say — get rid of BHO NOW!

  • I think it was great entertainment! Everyone who knows anything knew there were two versions. Beck is just trying to roil the waters! His envy of Trump cannot be stopped, even though it is obvious to all who are familiar with his opinion of the Donald (yes, Glenn, Beck has a bigger house than you do). For those who didn‘t know about Huck’s Florida digs, watch Fox News a little more often.

Trump is going to make the unending 2012 campaign a bit easier to stomach. Wait until POTUS is on day and night spouting his awful philosophy and praising himself for the work done by the Navy SEALS, healthcare “reform,” the amped-up drilling for oil, the economic recovery he made possible with all those jobs, etc., etc. Having Trump along for the ride would give us some comic relief, and maybe even some sound suggestions as to how to turn these many crises around. I wouldn’t mind having him at the front of the line were the b******s in China to earnestly use their power to defeat us –economically, cyber-wise, and militarily. No other candidate or possible candidate knows the Chicoms as well as he does and he has no fear of them. It would be fun to watch!

  • This was a normal response to a question to a business question. NOT A RANT! If Beck keeps up with this type of flimflam, he surely will lose more of his followers. Stretching to smear someone he doesn’t like may be typical rather than the exception. I am sort of glad to see this, two days in a row as a major story on his website, because it gives an insight into his politics. Why doesn’t he continue to smear the administration instead of poor old Donald, who hasn‘t got a rat’s chance of getting the nomination even without Beck’s interference.

  • These kids are amazing! When I was their age, I was watching Mickey Mouse Club! So refreshing! I smiled for the whole five plus minutes. I will be watching this video many times.
