Your problem is that you think me reaffirming that Jesus said the Father is greater than He is somehow takes away from Christ. How does adding glory to the Father take away from His Son? I already stated that I believe that Christ is God the Son, the Jehovah of the Old Testament who created this earth. I believe that they are two separate beings, just as Stephen said when he saw Jesus at the right hand of God. I reject your creeds formed in councils of men.

  • Lol, the logic here baffles me. Mormons are wrong because they believe a different interpretation of the Bible, but I’m sure each and every one of you has a different interpretation which is why none of you go to the same church. I wonder why there are thousands of religions based off of one book. It is a lot easier to rip someone elses belief than to state your own. You claim that every single word from a prophets mouth is inspired and is the word of God. I’m sorry, I don’t buy that. I believe they were allowed to have their own opinions when they weren’t speaking for the Lord. Jonah was still a prophet even though he turned from God and fled his mission. Your claim that the second they make a mistake, they aren‘t prophets anymore isn’t based on anything biblical. If they speak in the name of the Lord and it isn’t in the name of the Lord, of course they are false prophets. There was only one perfect man who remained perfect His entire life. Jesus taught how to tell false prophets, “by their fruits ye shall know them”. The fruits of Joseph Smith is the Book of Mormon. It’s not “if they are perfect, they are prophets”.

how is it a strawman argument. You are claiming that my beliefs aren‘t biblical because they aren’t in the Bible. I‘m telling you that the trinity isn’t biblical because not only is the word not found, but the teaching isn’t found. You conveniently skipped that part of the encyclopedia reference. You guys still ignore the scripture where Jesus says the the Father is “…my Father and your Father, my God and your God”. I reject the creeds of men.

“Don’t Mormons place a lot of importance on their leaders and claim them to be prophets?”
Depends on which leaders you are talking about. We regard the president of the church, his counselors, and the apostles as “prophets, seers, and revelators”. Nobody ever said that prophets were perfect infallible men, there was only one perfect person on this planet. Prophets were allowed to have their own opinions on things that aren’t regarded as official doctrine of the church. If you are going to hold modern day prophets to that standard, be sure to hold the prophets of old to that same standard. We don’t have every written opinion of the old prophets. Some of your claims are dishonest though and need to be cleared up. http://en.fairmormon.org/Joseph_Smith/Alleged_false_prophecies and http://en.fairmormon.org/Brigham_Young/Teachings/Moon_and_sun_are_inhabited

Went to encyclopedia brittanica online and looked up trinity. Here was the first sentence. “Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament”.

  • @lameliberals, I’d rather be a might fine non-Christian than a prideful Christian.

  • Lol hey look evangelicals, encinom the liberal troll has teamed up with you. Awesome

Only problem is Jesus himself said that the Father is greater and that the Father was His God. ” Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.”. I believe Jesus created this earth and I believe he is the great Jehovah, but he never said he was equal with the Father, post-apostolic men came to that conclusion

  • The problem with the nicean creed’s post-apostolic interpretation of the Godhead is that it ignores verses where Jesus clearly distinguishes himself from His Father. After Jesus had risen from the tomb and spoke with Mary, he told her to tell the others that he was going to “…my Father and your Father, my God and your God”. When Jesus spoke of being one with the Father, he explained ” That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us”. It isn’t a mystery.

So let me get this straight, your idea of easily disproving my religion is to show that there is a lack of geological evidence? Wow. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. I’ve used that phrase to defend the Bible from atheists using your same argument. Just because something hasn‘t been found yet doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. You obviously don’t see how telling your statement is. So, if there was a lack of physical evidence for the Bible, would you still believe it? Is your belief in the Bible only from physical evidence? I believe the words of prophets because the Holy Spirit of God witnesses it to me, not because some geologist says that a man named Jesus once lived. If you want to discuss interpretations of the scripture that’s fine. Geez, what do they teach in “Bible college”.
