  • “if the Vice President welcomed my behavior then how come it is a crime?”

Well, of course he does. If you were to do something stupid like assassinate the President (which I do not endorse or condone), then he’d be President. He’s rooting for you!

    I jest, of course.

Actually, they should pay her what the contract stipulates.

What others do or do not make has no bearing on the matter.

    Dear DB,

Thanks so much for your reply. Unfortunately, I cannot respond to the substance of your post. I only responded to your initial post because all occasional contributors are required to respond to your posts at least once. Now that I’ve fulfilled my obligation, you can expect no further communication from me.

Thanks, and if you have any questions please feel free ask. I won’t answer, of course, but you can ask all day long.

  • Police: Naked Woman Steals Louisiana Cab

Why does that never happen to me? I mean, I drive around with a woman in my car *all the time* and she NEVER strips down and demands to be taken to far away exotic locations. Dammit.

    Cabbies have all the fun.

What you fail to understand, DB, is that one of the strategies employed by grassroots conservatives is to involve themselves at the local, state, and national levels within the Republican party in order to transform it from a tired group of career politicians who stand for nothing but preserving power, to a focused group of citizens concerned with American principles. American principles, incidentally, that you are staggeringly unfamiliar with.

It’s an effective strategy. We are witnessing the beginning of that transformation, and with all such transitions, there will be fissures. So be it.

It’s not at all unlike what communists, socialists, and environmentalists have done to both parties since the turn of the last century. Snicker all you want as you read this in George Soros’ bathroom, but you ought to be flattered, since your tactics are being employed against you.

  • “Oh, you just handed the November victory to the democrats,” is the line we hear every time a grassroots conservative upsets an establishment Republican in a primary. It’s a theory worth considering, and then discarding. The fact is that if the establishment Republican can’t make it out of their own primary, with the money and backing of the local, state, and national organizations, then that’s on them. If you don’t want to face the prospect of a democrat winning in November, run a campaign based on principle (and backed by a track record) next time and you won’t have to worry about it.

But whatever you do, don’t blame the conservative that just handed you your hat for your own loss. That’s on you, buddy. Now, are you going to continue to strike a pose and long for the good ole days when elections were a mere formality, or are you going to shut up and help?

  • @Unashamed Conservative – I am one of those grammar hounds (though I prefer the less-PC grammar Nazi). I noted your ill-advised apostrophe in the first “it’s,” and it resulted in an immediate loss of respect for you. As you should know, the misuse of “it’s” is called out in rule 1.1 of Strunk & White’s Elements of Style…

However, your prompt apology has restored my faith in you. You have been returned to a place of honor in my heart.

    Don’t let it happen again.

Whoa there. You’re going to have to warn us before you stat talking about Michelle Obama and raw sex in the same post. It’s disconcerting.

Thanks John. Appreciate all you’ve done to affirm the widespread belief that career politicians are part of the problem, not the solution. You have the moral courage of a pudding pop.

    Don’t. Tread. On. Me.

  • “…Bill has to[o] much money…”

Umm, isn‘t the notion that someone has too much money something that we as constitutionalists don’t subscribe to?
