  • Pandas—–is a disease caused by untreated strep infections. Look it up. Long term antibiotics and other immune modulating therapies along with steroids are working to treat this. The conspiracy is the medical assoc and pediatricians around the country are balking. I think due to the whole antibiotic resistance thing. But that is my opinion.

  • Phoenixfire, yes we can test for Pandas, it is call ASO to check for previous strep infections. You can run a titer on many different infectious bacteria. These are very standard test. Many people go on carrying strep or mycoplasma with absolutely no symptoms. More immune tests are being developed to check these subsets of kids for certain antibodies and responses. I am glad you have said something about this.

  • For the life of me, I cannot believe some of the comments on here. As a parent of a child that has been diagnosed and treated for a similar issue that causes these same neurological issues, I am appalled at the real lack of concern and joking and accusing. This is a very scary and serious thing. In our daughters case, she is 7 and has had tics, emotional issues and tremors———It was Strep bacteria and mycoplasma—the stuff that causes “walking pnuemonia” There is a disease/immune disorder being investigated right now called PANDAS and is a possible cause in this case well. Look it up or google “untreated strep”
