  It appears the pilot was demonstrating a return-to-target (RTT) maneuver to troops on the ground. This is a flight tactic that is taught and trained. What caught this pilot was the thin air of Afghanistan (and poor judgement). Once he pointed that nose down, it was game over for him.

  SAFETY TIP: If you have police pointing their guns at you – they are pointing at you FOR A REASON: that is to get you to comply with their demands. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THEIR LAWFUL COMMANDS, AND THEY DETERMINE THAT YOU ARE A THREAT TO THEIR SAFETY, THEY WILL SHOOT YOU! Is this not so hard to understand? Less lethal options, such as Tasers are good options to have – but when that option fails, and the perp turns in a threatening manner toward the officer that just fired the taser, it is game over. Sure, we can Monday-morning-quarterback this all day long… shoulda, woulda coulda.

  If you are holding a weapon, and a police officer tells you to drop it. – If self preservation is a trait that you possess, might I suggest that you DROP THE WEAPON.
  There is a reason they are pointing that gun at you.

  I’ve been to all the Glenn Beck events. Every single one of them are filled with the kindest, most decent and upstanding citizens this country has to offer. If the driver is a person from the left, and I mean hard-core left – seeing all the goodness around them literally makes them incapable of thinking straight. Sometimes, they actually feel sick – but never did they attribute it to the passengers. It was hilarious being on a city bus in DC, and the driver could not figure out where he was, and he was (according to him) driving those city streets for 15 years.

  Whoa, after reading the article, I would have to say that this guy made a fatal error. You don’t screw around with people like that, especially ones that are armed. Tragic story, but no more tragic than someone who takes a corner a bit too fast, loses control and pays with their life.

  I do not believe for a moment that the officers set out to kill the guy. They were coming to the defense of a fellow officer that was being attacked.
