  We were spared this time in Farmers Branch, at least from this storm. We’ve had softball size hail bust through all six of our skylights, which have a double layer of plexiglass. That was scary. Prayers to everyone else.

  D&C’s are typically performed when the baby has died early on. And yes it is a medical procedure. It is similar to an abortion, just under anesthesia and the baby is already deceased. I unfortunately had one with my first miscarriage. Worst feeling in the world, even though I knew our baby had died. With my other losses, I chose to take antibiotics to make sure there would be no risk of infection.

  When a woman is pregnant with twins and one dies, it is not abnormal for the live baby to absorb the dead one. My neighbor had this happen, not parasitic, but when one baby died, the other somehow absorbed it. I think it is natures way of making sure the other baby does not die also, which is the case in most instances.

  We have one of these hardware stores here in Farmers Branch, TX, called Turner Hardware. They have anything and everything and when you walk in they can tell you exactly where to find what you are looking for, down to which shelf it is on. Great customer service. One place I go to for canning supplies because they always have this in stock.
