    Our country was founded upon religious freedom, however, it was based upon Christian beliefs and morals. I encourage you to check out the new movie called Monumental. It will show you how the first to settle, the pilgrams, had such a strong faith in God that they endured much. They also gave us the receipe for a free socity. The central point of which is Faith. From faith you get morality, from morality you get law, from law to education, and from education to liberty. You can’t have liberty and freedom without faith. And if our country was so secular, then why did the US Congress shortly after the founding commission and print the Holy Bible to distribute to schools in all of the colonies. They printed 10,000 copies. They did this because they knew that to remain a free society, religion had to be the centerpoint of the communities.

  • There happens to be one thing that I am not seeing here. First of all the whol seperation of church and state argument is mute because that whole argument is based upon the first amendment, correct? Well the first amendment to the US Constitution clearly states the following (when it comes to religion), “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. Therefore, based upon the wording, the first amendment only relates to Congress itself. It doesn’t relate to states or school districts and the like.

    I know but those people say that the 14th amendment requires all states to follow the amendments. So for clarification, here is the wording that would be referred to by these people from the 14th amendment, “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” Now this is also a mute point because if we go back to the original wording of the 1st amendment, it speaks directly and entirely to CONGRESS. States don’t have a congress, they have Legislatures.

    Finally, the Declaration of Independence is the first piece of legislation that Congress passed. Therefore it is apart of the Constitution and without it, there would be no Constitution.

  • Ok, here’s the deal. Everyone in the USA has a right to freedom of speech. They have the right to say whatever they want to and to whomever they want to. I am sick and tired people being offended. If your offended, then don’t listen. As far as racial comments go, I mean really? A racial comment or slur is nothing more something that offends you. So you know what, GROW UP and DEAL WITH IT. I was called names in school and I’m WHITE. I get called names now, i.e. ******* and such. And I address it at that time. And if it continues, I either ignore it or leave. Finally, there are jerks in every ethnicity and race. It’s human nature. And the more we shut up about what we think or believe, the more we lose of our Freedom of Speech.

    As far as the death threats go, the police definately need to get involved and arrest those people because it is unnecessary and against the law. If it’s a crime to threaten the President, then it should be a crime to threaten any citizen. PERIOD.

  • So just a question, why are they trying to recall any Republican Senators? The Democrat Senators are the ones that have been hiding from doing their job and voting on legislation.

  • What I want to know is how did they word the questions. You can make anyone agree with you depending on how you word the question.
