Fed Judge Sides With Teen Atheist & Orders Public School to Remove Prayer Mural
January 12, 2012 at 2:29pm
You have never met this girl. What kind of Christian would pass such horrible judgment on a stranger? She is sixteen. Maybe she is sincere; maybe she is misguided by the parents you so readily excused. But to condemn her as you do sounds pretty un-Christian to me.
Fed Judge Sides With Teen Atheist & Orders Public School to Remove Prayer Mural
January 12, 2012 at 2:27pm
These comments are so, so terribly off-base. You need to understand that there is a difference between a decision upsetting you and a decision being legally wrong. It is a publicly-funded building, so it cannot promote prayer. That doctrine has been upheld countless times by countless courts. Personally, I think this girl needs to seriously calm down and not make a case of this. I think it’s silly to suggest this should be “offensive” any more than a Cubs hat is offensive to White Sox fans. That’s the problem. The problem is not with the law; it is with the attitudes people to take to that law. It commands respect on both sides: for Christians to respect others’ beliefs, and for others to respect Christians’ beliefs. That is where I think this girl missed the mark.
California City Fines Couple for Holding Bible Study in Their Home
September 20, 2011 at 4:41pm
I get that having too many people can be a disturbance, but it is hard to imagine how a Bible study could get too out of hand. It sounds a little ridiculous to fine these people. And to the people who are using this as some kind of weird prompt to trash Islam, I should point out that 1) this has nothing to do with Islam, and 2) You seem to have a terribly poor grasp of what Islam is about. It is not about child rape anymore than Christianity is. The priests who molest children are a shame to their religion the same way that Muslims who do the same are. When you pout about Islam at every possible mention of religion, you sound like a nut, and, much more importantly, you discredit yourself and distract people from this very important issue: this couple is being punished for holding a Bible study. That is total BS. Get angry about that. Don’t keep railing against Islam or people will just ignore you all together.
