  Not sure I understand the problem here from the parents’ perspective. In my church, children are christened as infants (meaning that the parents and church agree to help them develop into solid Christians as they grow) but not that they are actually baptized (making a commitment to follow Christ). That comes later when they choose to make that decision for themselves. So I think this should be clarified; if the mother had them christened, what’s the big deal? I think the larger issue is how on earth that worked its way into a divorce decree in the first place. I also think the whole “Joint” decision making thing in a divorce situation is a mess. I have friends who are divorced and “share” decision making about the kids, but they can’t even agree on the time of day. Someone needs the final say – 51% of the decision-making ability – or nothing gets done. In this case, from a legal perspective, I think the woman broke her divorce decree if it does say that they share the decision making on religious issues 50-50. But there needs to be some common sense applied here – and particularly so on the ex’s part – does he REALLY want to send her to JAIL for this? Hate her or not, you loved her enough at one time to marry her. Yes, she made a decision she was not supposed to make according to the divorce decree, but really, does she deserve jail time for caring deeply about the spiritual upbringing of your children? There are a lot worse things she could have done.

  The people who are saying they will abstain from voting for the president are making a HUGE mistake. If you don’t vote AGAINST Obama, then he wins by default. Even if you don’t like the Republican nominee, you HAVE to vote for whoever it is – even Romney – even if you don’t like him – to defeat Obama. It is the only way. I don’t like Romney either, but if he wins the nomination, I will vote for him. I think he’s may be Obama lite, but I KNOW what Obama is now. Please, think about that. Abstaining or writing in another candidate will only work in Obama’s favor.

  Driver’s licenses are used as proof of citizenship too – if you drive into Tijuana, you can come back to America using just your license. So, if you give them driver’s licenses, then aren’t we effectively making them de facto citizens? Ask yourself, why can‘t I just take a trip to Germany and get a German driver’s license? Or France or anywhere else for that matter? Because I am not a citizen. This is NOT the solution. The solution is to enforce our immigration policy. If the policy isn’t working, re-examine it and find a way to make it work. But you can’t give illegal immigrants the same rights as citizens. Right now, in some ways, they have more.
