  • Drug Cartels to Mexican Journalists: Shut Up or Die

    May 25, 2012 at 6:12pm

    In reply to LouC57.

If Americans were allowed by law to produce their own domestically, then the horror in Mexico would end…

Organized crime hates competition and they love the fact that the U.S. taxpayer provides the free service of eliminating all their competitors so that they can continue to operate a monopoly for themselves.

If you’re planning on getting rid of the drug cartels simply by reducing the number of competitors in the marketplace, then you’ve probably already thrown away your thinking cap long ago.

I love how people keep referencing prohibition when wanting to legalize drugs… Any who, the war on drugs, to date, has failed miserably… However, full legalization of drugs is not the answer either…

Prank 911 Calls Send SWAT Teams to Unsuspecting Homes
    Published February 02, 2009
    Associated Press

Doug Bates and his wife, Stacey, were in bed around 10 p.m., their 2-year-old daughters asleep in a nearby room. Suddenly they were shaken awake by the wail of police sirens and the rumble of a helicopter above their suburban Southern California home. A criminal must be on the loose, they thought.

Doug Bates got up to lock the doors and grabbed a knife. A beam from a flashlight hit him. He peeked into the backyard. A swarm of police, assault rifles drawn, ordered him out of the house. Bates emerged, frightened and with the knife in his hand, as his wife frantically dialed 911. They were handcuffed and ordered to the ground while officers stormed the house.

The scene of mayhem and carnage the officers expected was nowhere to be found. Neither the Bateses nor the officers knew that they were pawns in a dangerous game being played 1,200 miles away by a teenager bent on terrifying a random family of strangers.

They were victims of a new kind of telephone fraud that exploits a weakness in the way the 911 system handles calls from Internet-based phone services. The attacks — called “swatting” because armed police SWAT teams usually respond — are virtually unstoppable”

Ron has great answers on many of the things dealing w/ the economy here in the U.S. but boy,
his foreign policy would be a complete free-for-all for China, Russia and even Cuba etc.
    ====================================

The U.S. Military is financed (on credit) largely by foreigners who buy U.S. Treasury bonds (in essence, a loan to the federal government)….

When foreigners begin to worry about holding IOU’s from Uncle Sam, then they won’t buy any more U.S. Treasury bonds (and will attempt to liquidate the ones that they are currently holding)…

If foreigners take away the credit card that finances the U.S. Military, then you don’t even know what a free-for-all looks like yet….

In fact, this wouldn’t be unprecedented at all….in 1965, the simultaneous welfare/warfare state began (LBJ’s “Great Society” as well as the first U.S. combat troops to Vietnam)…

By 1970, the U.S. Treasury was hemorrhaging money so bad that foreign countries began immediately demanding their gold being held on reserve in the U.S. in exchange for the federal reserve notes that had been issued in their place.

But since that money had already been spent, then the U.S. Treasury defaulted (resulting in the Nixon Shock of 1971):

  • Beck runs a propaganda-based media empire that is designed to make him filthy rich while his sponsors reprogram (remember Pavlov’s experiment?) his listeners/followers.

In general, people want to be told what to think and if you can locate a charismatic individual like Beck that has the ability to gain people’s confidence, then there is very little use for the truth any longer.

As a result, folks like Beck will provide the ‘truth’ from now on and this alleviates the masses from having to do the hard work of thinking for themselves any longer.

  • It truly is amazing…

Up until the late 80′s, then SO many Americans thought that pro wrestling was actually real because it theatrically presented a simple (for the simple-minded!) binary choice to root for either a hero or a villain (depending upon your own perspective, of course)……it wasn’t until Jim McMahon of WWE finally came out and told the world that the whole business has been entirely staged for decades….

Fast-forward a couple of decades and the corporate media (FOX and MSNBC specifically) have revived the same concept and made it wildly successful with a new entertainment theme: “News”.

Now the partisans for the ‘heroes’ congregate to pat one another on the back at online corporate media outlets like The Blaze, Drudge, etc. while the ‘villains’ congregate at places like DailyKos, etc.

Over time though, people get conditioned to the ‘group think’ that goes on at these places and they will swear up and down that its their side that is presenting the ‘truth’ and that the other ‘side’ is the group who is delusional instead.

One of these days, then Rupert Murdoch is gonna’ come out (like McMahon once did) and publicly announce to everyone that it’s not real and that it has all been staged entirely for their entertainment benefit.

We have been punished because of Obama’s regulations on the banks….I use to get 6% interest on my small checking account….It was helping me out..

Obama starts regulating the banks and because of Obama , I get the same as 0%..
    =================================================

    This is pure ignorance…..

When Chairman Bernanke “prints money”, then he is using that newly created money to buy U.S. treasury notes with it…

This has the effect of driving down interest rates (when demand for the dollar is up, then interest rates go in the opposite direction)

A rise in interest rates is generally BAD for folks presently holding political office, because a credit contraction such as this has generally caused a recession afterward and it causes people currently in power to lose their elected offices.

Both Republicans and Democrats are acutely aware of this phenomenon and that’s why neither side ever wants to see a rise in interest rates….

However, this has a very BAD side effect. Recessions are a necessary part of capitalism and its nature’s way of clearing away the bad entities to make more room for growth for the good entities. Unfortunately, if you stop recessions from happening altogether then you‘re gonna’ eventually get one anyway….but it’ll be SEVERE in nature (like the Mortgage Meltdown of 2008 for instance.)

  • Right up there in the same class as Peter Schiff is Jerry Robinson:

    Jerry Robinson: Part I

After reading the explanations from Jerry Robinson, then the past 40 years make perfect sense to me now…especially foreign policy.

When you just simply follow the money, then it will always take you to the truth.

  • OK….what’s your alternative scenario then?..

If fewer folks demand U.S. debt (essentially a demand for U.S. dollars that sustains what little is left of its purchasing power), then you start to have SEVERE inflation and things like gasoline will start costing $15 a gallon.

You gotta’ have somebody out there demanding the dollar, or your dollar won’t even be enough to buy a paper clip anymore…..and since we have been blowing all our dough the past 10 years on running a VERY expensive welfare-warfare state (on credit no less), then the parties that are holding the largest portions of U.S. debt around the world are beginning to get reluctant to hold our IOU’s any longer.

China is one of them, so you’ll have to make every concession possible to keep them happy. Otherwise they will abandon the dollar and leave us with the enormous inflation to contend with.

The moral to this story is don’t feed the military-industrial complex….don’t feed the entitlement state….and don‘t print trillions of dollars to bail out Wall Street banks who have been gambling with other people’s money.

  • If you weren’t buying all those Ipads, computers, cell phones, TV sets, etc. (that are all made in China, no less) then they wouldn’t be able to do this…
