  This work by Dr. Rasinski may be being taught by the teachers who purchased his book. Other teachers should be using this method of repeated reading to help their students’ reading development. That’s it.So you can relax. Your Constitutional rights have not been violated. There is no conspiracy in public schools to brainwash children. We are simply doing our very best to teach with rigor and fidelity the five components of reading development.

  There are 5 components to a child’s reading development: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension. Dr. Rasinski’s is a highly-respected expert in the area of developing a child’s fluency. There are many things an effective teacher does to help a child firmly acquire each of these skills in reading. For as many years as I’ve known Tim, he has gotten children excited about singing songs and to sing them over and over. REPUBLICAN4PUBLICED (above) referred to some of them. He has hundreds!
  So this is not a “system”. It is merely one way of helping a child to become a better reader. And this is being done in every school across America that is implementing the most current research in reading. Does this help you understand a little better? I’d be happy to help clarify any other questions you have.

  Those of you who have criticized and bad-mouthed the educator who created the choral reading for the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America are nothing but lemmings who believe every word that comes out of Glenn Beck’s mouth. Glenn Beck did not read the book before he made his comments. Nor did any of you! Shame on you!
  This format that allows you to speak your peace without signing your name creates nothing but a group who is willing to partake of Glenn Beck’s Kool-Aid. Fools!
  I know the author of the choral reading both personally and professionally. Each of you could only HOPE to be half the person this man is. I am proud to call him a friend. What he does for teachers and children is to be admired. Again you could only hope that your child would be taught by such a fine man.
  Now…if you want to buy his book, it is available on Amazon.com. Read it. Think about it. THEN, if you still want to be critical of it, I know Dr. Rasinski would enjoy a conversation with you. But until you have all of the information, don’t offer your opinion.
