  • This was not a field trip. I live in Wisconsin, these teachers called in sick, and rallied the students together to go downtown to protest. And the students are also just protesting because they believe that teacher’s are being “wronged.” Most of these kids don’t even know what is going on. In Madison you can get around pretty easy, so kids can go where they want to during the day, walk, bus, drive, without their parents even knowing about it. ie parents go to work, kids go to protest with their teachers.

  • I live in Wisconsin and it is really insane what is going on here. Where I live we have college students protesting on campus, people standing on sidewalks and in city parks holding up signs and chanting. People with bullhorns. Screaming out “Kill the bill, kill the bill!” I live in a medium sized metro city of Wisconsin, and our public schools were cancelled today, because the teachers were no shows. What‘s worse is that the teacher’s were staging walk-outs on campuses, high schools and colleges, taking their students out of class, to protest. I voted for Scott Walker, and he won in a landslide last November. I believe that what he is doing is right, and I stand behind what he and the republicans are doing down in Madison. I think these Democratic leaders are cowards and should be ashamed of themselves for running and hiding. I am just glad I did not vote for them. I am also a young person, only 24, but I am conservative, and I know Wisconsin is BROKE.
