  I feel for this man’s pain. I understand what he’s gone through, as I went through that phase, and now am a healthy and confident… 16 year old lesbian.
  I also just founded a Gay-Straight Alliance at my public school this year.
  I‘m relatively attractive by Western society’s “norms”, intelligent, and rational.

  I think all of you that would condemn or mock this young man’s death are just plain disgusting.
  God loves everyone. That’s what the Bible says, plain and simple. In the end, that’s what it boils down to.
  When Jesus died on the cross, he didn’t stop and say “hey, remember to kill the homos”, and God didn’t strike down homosexuals when his Son died. So why is it so hard for his “followers”- what you call yourselves- to accept that simple truth?
  Because it’s easier for you to hate people who make you feel insecure.
  I am an (admittedly non-practicing in the past year or so) Roman Catholic, aged 16, female, relatively attractive, athletic, healthy, outgoing, involved in school with great grades; I wear skirts, cook, clean, sew, can knock back a drink or two, my three best friends are all heterosexual white girls who go/or used to go to Catholic private schools. And I’m a lesbian with a girlfriend.
  Now, what are you implying is “woman’s role” that lesbians don’t accept?
  Because right now all I can think of is procreation. Which is a totally personal discussion that religion will NEVER belong in. The belligerent attitude of Christians towards anyone who is not heterosexual-cisgender continues to amaze me. Have you ever spoken to God? Do you not realize that your Bible was written by extremely biased white men thousands of years ago? Grow up.

• Gay Club’s Condom-Decorated ‘Christmas’ Tree Causes Outrage at Penn. College

  The “condom tree” should NOT be taken down. Obviously this young Republican overreacted and dragged religious-based moral beliefs into this whole situation. This is a privately-owned university, and this tree is displayed in a student center where essentially, everyone who lives there is 17-18 or older.
  The tree was NOT labeled as promoting sex in any way, but rather promoting HIV/AIDS awareness- in essence, SAFE sex. I definitely have not seen christians promoting students’ best interests in that way, because christians have a notorious habit of promoting abstinence and if a man has pre-marital sex, it’s shrugged off- but if a woman has pre-marital sex, she’s considered a shameful woman.

  Your beliefs are not shared by anyone. The tree was totally harmless and in an appropriate environment (they did not put it in a church, town square, or anywhere public- just on school grounds)-
  In fact, it was the young Republicans club that made a bigger deal of it– so a tree is up during the holiday season? What’s it to you? Is the month of December supposed to be solely dedicated to Judeo-Christian holidays? Shame on you.
  I totally support this tree and it’s attempt to, in a playful manner, encourage SAFE sex among their peers. And if you choose abstinence? They’re not shaming you.
  The condoms aren’t used, everything is hygenic. Et cetera.
