  Somewhat unrelated but to make a point, I’m Cuban-American and the Cuban flag which existed since the late 19th century is still used in communist Cuba. Some ignorant people in South FL, mostly democrat/liberals who hate the mostly conservative/republican Cubans will tell a Cuban if they have a flag that it’s a “communist” flag. That flag the communists stole represents my ancestors that fought the Spanish for liberation and independance…the KKK does not represent the South, they‘re a fringe group and btw I’ve seen on TV KKK using American flags, too…should we ban the American flag now because a racist is using it? Maybe we should ban shoes because I assume Klansmen where them too. My grandfather was American, his grandfather fought for the South, Georgia Infantry, died in Chancellorsville(sp?) in 1864, no one in my family ever owned a slave nor fought for the rights of rich men to have slaves, and G-D damn any of you liberal elites with your ignorance and liberal arts indoctrination (yes, I’ll have fries with my combo thanks!) saying that my grandfather’s kin and those people here were stupid pawns…we fought for home, culture, tradition, heritage…General Sherman, by our standards was a war criminal and an avowed racist yet these idiot libs think he burned Atlanta to free the slaves while slave owning states MD, KY, MS, and others were still in the Union LOL, silly libbys, you guys insult the US education system yet you’re all glowing examples of how lousy it

  @Bible Quoting, as a Cuban American like most being conservative and mostly voting Republican, I can honestly say the only times in my life I have encountered racism was from liberal elitists who hate the Cubans for voting Republicans.

No Cuban in the United States is an illegal alien, whether you like it or not…and I do realize most liberals would love to throw out the Cuban-Americans who are overwhelmingly Conservative and vote Republican, in fact we gladly gave you 8 years of “W”. As Ann Coutler said regarding Elian Gonzalez, “the only immigrant liberals wanted to deport”. Cuban Americans are political exiles given amnesty. The laws were changed during the Clinton Administration with the so-called “wet foot/dry foot” policy where a Cuban caught at sea was deported but given amnesty if making it to shore. Another thing regarding your third world comments, Cuba pre-Castro had a standard of living 3rd after the U.S. and Canada. The Cuban Peso pre-Castro was equal to the U.S. dollar. Since you‘re so against socialism you might want to check out Humberto Fontova’s “Exposing the Real Che Guevara”. Rick Sanchez is not typical of the majority of Cuban-Americans.

  @Ogui, brother…Sanchez was always left. I don’t know how old you are but do you remember Neil Rogers? Rogers was a lame shock jock in South FL for decades, extreme leftist, he would on-air read Michael Moore books over the airwaves, like Sanchez Rogers was a convicted criminal who was caught making himself feel good in an adult theater, the big one on Biscayne Blvd if it’s still there, I left South FL years ago I don’t know. Sanchez was friends with and frequently appeared on Rogers program, despite the fact Rogers used to viciously slander the Cuban American community, much like the trailer trash in South Dade were doing after the Elian thing who were Clinton supporters and led by 3x convicted pedophile James Cross of the Red Rooster Lounce in Cutler Ridge, it’s among those people that Rogers gets the bulk of his audience. Rogers has been replaced Jorge, another Cuban American leftist…there are Cuban exiles who are left wingers and even communist that left because Castro was too extreme for them, fortunately they’re the minority.

  @Miami, if you followed WSVN through the years, they’re a FOX affiliate…when the FOX News Channel was interviewing for on-air talent they interviewed at Channel 7 and other FOX affiliates around the country. Sanchez interviewed with FOX News back then I think it was around 1995 or so, he lost out to Shepherd Smith and Bill Hemmer who were then anchors at WSVN and fresh out of college. Sanchez since has had it out for FOX News.

  @ENCINOM, when you label the South as “backwards” because of relgion, does that also include the South’s rather large African-American population the overwhelming majority of which are of devout, many times fanatical religious faith? You know if you’re going to slam an entire geographic region you have to include ALL its residents with your “politically correct racism”.

  I was in Asheville and Charlotte and parts in-between, I own property east of Ashville and hope to build a home there soon, I love the area, beauty, surroundings and the people are nicest I’ve encountered everywhere in the town I have my land…though I never talked politics with anyone I saw all the co-exist and a few Obama stickers on every other car, of course on the highway near Ashville and Charlotte but I currently live in North Florida, work at a university and still though surrounded by liberals the amounts on the roads in NC was mind-blowing, and yes I also noticed they were all on nice affluent cars/suvs too which made me shake my head, I do notice being from FL as we’re very familiar with them that NC also has a lot of transplants from the Northeast.

  I was recently in NC but not Mount Airey but I was surprised, disappointed, and saddened by the amount of liberals I encountered, every other car had a “co-exist” sticker on the bumper. I know a week vacationing doesn‘t equal a lifetime but I’m moving there in a year or so, I hope I encounter other like-minded people but so far I’m not impressed.
