Military Jets Fly Low Over Cairo in ‘Show of Strength’
January 30, 2011 at 11:13am
At this rate, the Muslim Brotherhood will be in power in Egypt in about a year. And if that happens, it will make what happened in Iran in 1979 look like a joke. Always remember, they had “free” and “fair” elections in Gaza and what did they come up with? Hamas.
Michele Bachmann’s Wrong-Camera Address Gets the SNL Treatment
January 30, 2011 at 11:09am
Wow, that was about as funny as a train wreck, which is what SNL has become. I’m all for political humor, but that just wasn’t very funny. It was one lame joke drawn out for four minutes. But it‘s interesting that you didn’t see many clips of anyone making fun of Obama during the State of the Union speech. I wonder why? Could it be because the networks and the main stream media are in the tank for this guy? Naaaaaa. After all, the State of the Union speech WAS the biggest joke of the week and nobody seemed to care.

Exact Moment of Russia Bombing Caught on Vid
January 25, 2011 at 11:59am
So let me get this straight. Radical Islamists were responsible for a terrorist attack in Monscow, but the Russians have no problems selling nuclear technology to a radical Islamic state like Iran. After all, it’s not as if the Iranians would ever give nuclear weapons, or maybe even the parts for a “dirty” or radiological bomb, to radical Islamic groups in Southern Lebanon or in Chechnya. Naaaaa, never happen. Can the Russians be that dumb or greedy, or both?
Tea Partiers Say Keep Defense in Mix for Budget Cuts
January 23, 2011 at 11:23am
It’s not always a question of how much Congress spends on defense, but HOW it spends its money. All branches of the armed services MUST get a better handle on what exactly (and realistically) they want out of a weapon system. The classic example of a major Pentagon nightmare is the current Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). This is a perfect example of the US Navy trying to have one small ship do too many missions and have too many very expensive weapons systems placed on it. What did we get? A small ship that was supposed to cost around $200 milllion each now costing an amazing $600 million each and still climbing. The whole program is a disaster and we may still have to go through with it simply because we already have too much money invested in the project. But it’s a clear example of the Pentagon having unrealistic expectations from a warship and trying to have a small hull do to many things.
Have clear and simple idea of what a weapon system needs to do and make sure you have achievable goals that can be obtained in a reasonable amount of time. Don’t try to have every gold-plated technology placed on board one ship, or one jet, or one tank. By keeping the procurement process simple and realistic, you will inevitable reduce costs.
South Korea Releases Video of Raid on Hijacked Ship
January 23, 2011 at 10:53am
We should be seeing more of this, not less. Never negotiate with pirates. Once they understand that there is no money to be made from piracy and that only death or prison awaits them if they do try taking a ship, then they will either go to other, “softer” targets, or they will simply give up. Modern-day piracy is a scourge and a horror and needs to be eliminated as soon as possible, before it encourages even more of these people from trying the same thing. Problem is, if we do win the war against these pirates, what will these criminals do in the future to make money? Will they turn to the international drug trade, or terrorism to blackmail countries out of some cash? Only way to solve this problem is to somehow “fix” Somalia, which is a failed nation state. But how anyone can solve that mess is anyone’s guess.
Soldiers Kill 10 Gunmen in Mexico Clash Along Texas Border
January 23, 2011 at 8:07am
Somehow I don’t think much of the violence in Mexico will spill over into the United States. Even if our Federal Government will not do anything about it, the individual states will. I can’t see a state like Texas just laying down and doing nothing if some of their citizens are harmed by Mexican bandits. Unless the Mexicans are looking for an open war with the United States, which I doubt they are, they will stay on their side of the border. And if Mexicans keep killing Mexicans, well, that’s not really our problem, is it. Mexicans have been dealing with violent and homicidal bandits for hundreds of years. Sad part is, not much has changed in that country. So I suggest to all Americans that, on your next vacation, just go to Florida or Maine.
