  • Sticky topic indeed. On one hand it is an unacceptable horror that we as a people murder thousands of babies every year for the sake of convenience. Its an anathema to civilization. Similarly may in our culture condemn gays as being immoral. These two issues are not connected. They have little to do with each other, yet are lumped together as “Social Issues.”

The truth is that killing innocent human beings is an affront regardless of one’s religious beliefs. I know liberals and conservatives that all believe that abortion is evil and should be stopped. The only reason that these issues are lumped together is due to Fundamental Christian religious beliefs.
Where am I going with this? My point is that I do not believe in any abortion ever, unless the mother’s life is in danger. Even as horrible as a rape is, a resulting child is still innocent. A bad situation but bad things do happen. Murders are pretty irrevocable too, and rapist should be considered for the death penalty. I must admit that I personally am unwilling to force a woman to carry a child that has been raped but I am willing to require the matter be dealt with immoderately. Anything after the first trimester abortion should be illegal.

Regarding the gay thing, as a lesbian I am good with Civil Unions. Marriage is a religious concept. individua Churches should have the right to believe as they wish but I demand equal civil rights like any other American. Separation of Church and State is

  • This is really about forcing Americans to obey. While they want to diminish religious fervor and influence this is about breaking our will. Anyway, a couple of thoughts: A) As a commissioned officer in my youth, I recall that we all took an oath to defend the constitution. Furthermore, every soldier is legally required to disobey an illegal order. If an order violates one’s constitutional rights, it follows that it must be an illegal order. B) Were I serving today as a Catholic Chaplain I would disregard an order that went against my religious beliefs. When I was called on it I would resign my commission. Perhaps this is something that the brave men in uniform and of the cloth should consider.

  • We have been talking about the story of the daughter and her spanking.  It seems that most people are focused on his actions, but I find the young woman’s actions to be fat more instructive.  While he went further than he should have with her spanking, the daughter was out of line in her behavior.  The story doesn’t allude to her other behavior, but I would bet that there were plenty of examples of misbehavior and defiance.  Kids that age can have incredibly sharp tongues.

I said when the story broke that there would be blackmail involved.  Sure enough, this morning I read of her being angry that her dad took away a Mercedes he had been providing her.  It appears that he no longer wished to support this luxury if the young woman wouldn’t stay in school.  The bottom line of this story is really an analogy for what is going on nationally.  This entitled little twit is the so-called 99%.  If she can not have the things she wants but us unwilling to work for she is willing to lay waste to the whole system.

Yes, the dad went too far with the spanking, but the real villain of the story is the ungrateful, thieving, entitled little girl who tried to blackmail her dad.

  • Welcome home Glenn…. We are in independant and rowdy bunch….

  • OMG this is terrible. Please pray for the you woman’s saftey. I know that this happens in the more war torn areas in the past and we need to pray for those victims as well, but I can not imagine how we have arrived at a point in history where we see such babaric activty in the developed world.

  • What ever!! The only way to stop civic stupidity is to stop civic stupidity. The Nazis all said that they were just following orders too. It is simple, officious civil servants all say the same crap. It is for the public good, or for the children, or for safety.

Just like the TSA violating the 4th amendment – we must just say no. My son is grown now but I would not have allowed him to be molested to fly. If a police officer came on to my property and told me that my child could not run a lemonade stand I would be polite and tell the officer that I am sorry but that the law was ridiculous and that I refuse to give up my freedoms. I wouldn’t push it to the point of an arrest but we must all stand up and take our pound of flesh from these thugs. I am sure that the office is a nice man but we as citizens must make it difficult for them to execute such foolishness.

    I am just saying.

  • The political class has all but abrogated their mandate to govern. These people have stolen more from average citizens than can be imgined through inflation & by incurring debt to transfer our dollars to support their globalist buddies.

We must change course dramatically now or perish from a financial perspective.

  • This is what Democracy looks like!

  • Pray for the families… I can not help but think how I would feel were my child at a camp that was attacked in this way. This is just another example of the brutality of the enemy. We must face this evil and stand squarly in oposition to it’s despotic goals.

  • The problem I see is this: We are out of time! Where in past years Americans were debating what America should mean and battling back and forth for our own viewpoints, we are now at a place in history where our very existence is at stake. No longer do we have the luxury for such academic pursuits. To be really honest, it is probably already too late to save the republic in any form that I would recognize. For all practical purposes, America is a car – speeding towards the edge of a cliff. The Democrats have the foot on the gas, confident that the cliff is not real; while Republicans are too focused on meaningless gestures like the recent 38 billion dollar cut in spending, to know how to bring the car to a stop short of the cliff. The issue is that without an extreme change in course there is no longer enough time to stop. It makes little difference to the ultimate result of the crash if we as a nation have the gas pedal pressed to the floor or if we simply coast over the edge. Either way America is a burning wreck at the bottom. The political class has stolen more money by causing inflation than any other criminal in history. I guess the president can get his tax increase even if no new taxes are passed by simply inflating the currency thus moving citizens into higher tax brackets.
