Georgia Town Raises Nearly $4,000 Off of Saggy Pants Fines

God, I am so relieved to know that I am normal. This trend has been offending me for quite awhile.
Las Vegas is full of young teenagers walking around with their Levis like that. I always was a bit confused on why the young men were running around like that. I feared they were inviting something they may not really want.
I wish this city would pass an ordinance like Albany, Georgia, has. Our city could use the money as well.
New App Disables Your Texts and Calls When Moving Above 10 MPH

In January of 1212, it will become illegal to drive while using a cell phone in the State of Nevada.
This state already had a high accident rate because of tourism. But, with the extra variable, the cell phone, it increased beyond everyone’s conception.
It seems like 1 out of 3 drivers are driving with one hand holding a cell phone by one of his or her ears. There have been accidents where city workers—while working along the side of the road—were run over and became triple amputees. This happened six years ago!
I hope this new method really works, because I have also heard of teenagers accidentally killing themselves by driving and texting. If it does not, and the children figure out a way to override this software, well then, more states will have to pass laws like Nevada passed.

Are You Ready for Al Gore and Current TV’s 24-Hour Global Warming Special?

Well, I am one of the .5 million people watching The Climate Reality Project on US Stream TV (I think that is the name of the online station)
I tried to get involved with the online chat on Facebook, and I learned that one can only use 92 characters when chatting.
So, I am posting my chat for The Climate Reality Project here and below:
Yes, we need to make changes in our federal government’s policies. And, to do so, it will be an upward battle. Meanwhile, we need to make changes in our local policies as well.
If more cities, counties, and states in the United States would make changes for lessening the affects of climate change, then, we would become more influential in persuading our federal government for changes in its policies.
By working locally with equal effort while working federally, we will reach a turning point sooner in the upward battle of changing federal policies for lessening or reversing—to a degree— global warming.
Another Federal Judge Rules Obamacare Mandate Unconstitutional
September 14, 2011 at 2:33pm
@CANIAC STEVE
When they put the bill together, we were informed that we would have to wait until after it passed to learn what was actually in the healthcare package. Many of us were extremely furious with their unconstitutional attitude.
Then, when it passed, some of us were expecting something condense into 500 pages or less. I was floored when I learned that the bill passed with 2,000 pages.
Apparently, all the representatives, as well as their brothers and sisters, used that bill to acquire specific items for each of their states. They were obviously not focused on the healthcare bill itself.
I bet if we did go through the actual bill—and I mean shortly after it passed, because, by now, it has been edited—page by page that we would have found some serious discrepancies in its final draft.
It was thrown together so unprofessionally.
A Double Dip Recession In 2011?
September 14, 2011 at 12:18pm
I am frustrated with being advised to invest in heavy metals and to stock up on food products that have a long shelf life. It is not that I do not respect the advice. Believe me I DO!!! The truth is that I am at an economic disadvantage! And, not being able to follow this advice also adds anxiety to my already stressed out life.
Two years ago, I lost my weekly overtime, suffered two pay cuts, and started working a 36-hour workweek. During a three-month period, while the various stages of my economic nightmare were unraveling, I lost $10,649 of my annual income, an income I was accustomed to earning for a four-year-period. And, all this happened while working for the same employer. As a matter of fact, this January will be my seventh anniversary.
Meanwhile, all my bills stayed the same until they were paid off, and I ate rice, pasta, and oatmeal—all the inexpensive staples. For 15 months, I went without buying fresh produce until I paid off a car and a student loan.
Heavy metals are not within my grasp. With every paycheck, I spend an extra $10 on food products with a long shelf life. Unfortunately, I only have a month of extra food supplies, and I have been doing this for three or four months.
Some of us have not fallen through the cracks yet, but it will not take much for some of us to fall through one. Whether it is a double-dip recession or a depression, it will not matter to me, because I am one of the UNDEREMPLOYED!!!
Family Upset After They Find Misspelled Name on 9/11 Memorial
September 13, 2011 at 11:54pm
@EVERYONE, INCLUDING BUNNYBEADS!!!
You guys are being rude to Bunny Beads.
She has clearly established that both spellings are actively used.
She also has a point about people spelling common names differently for uniqueness. When I volunteer for a non-profit, I usually enter names from the lists of volunteers for each meal. You would never believe the number of ways a name can be spelled. Different cultural backgrounds seem to also influence a greater degree of uniqueness to many common American names.
However, I like all my accounts, insurances, statements, certificates, and diplomas spelled correctly. And, I am insistent on having my middle initial in my full name!
