  Rarely is there rational dialogue from the view of the child. And of course this is because children have no voice here on the Blaze. “When rights are in conflict… the moral and ethical thing to do is side with the voiceless and powerless. Children have a right to know and be known by; love and be loved by the two people who gave them life. ” (David Blankenhorn) Whose right is greater? A.) The adult/s who feel they have a right to have a child? B.) The child who feels they have a right to be born to the two people who gave them life? When a child does not have their own parents, it is a tragedy from the perspective of the child. We set the barn on fire when we past no fault divorce and allowed everyone and anyone access to ART. We are now pushing ahead at breakneck speed to set the house on fire too. The right thing to do is head towards the ideal and not away from it.

  The fact that the Constitution says nothing about marriage; says not a word of definition only leads me to believe that the Founders were all in agreement that marriage was indeed the legal union of one man and one woman. Think about it. Does anyone think they had one conversation or debate about the definition of marriage? Don’t mess with universal institutions please. I’m not anti-gay. Far from it. I believe that marriage means something. And if you change it for some, you change it for all.

  You can believe in same sex marriage or you can believe that children need both a mother and a father. You cannot believe both.

  The biggest problem with legalizing same sex marriage (there really is no such thing… no phrase in the law) is that if I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman only, and homosexual couples can legally marry, then I will be seen as a bigot. And I’m not a bigot. That’s a problem.

  I love the Spanish language. ( I want to learn it myself) It’s beautiful. But English is the language of our land, official or not. No compromise. I encourage her to keep practicing and try again another year.
