  You are a liar. Dr. King was pro-choice and a socialist. He was well to the left of not only the Republican Party, but the Democratic Party as well. He would STILL be well to the left of both parties if he were alive today.

  What’s truly sick is the way Alveda King lies about the history of her own family for political gain. Her uncle, whose name she so happily exploits, was a left-wing socialist and a firm supporter of Planned Parenthood. Since he’s dead and unable to refute her lies, she attempts to rewrite history and claim Martin Luther King, Jr. was a conservative pro-life Republican. He was demonstrably none of those things.

  Given MLK Jr’s support for Planned Parenthood and his admiration for its founder Margaret Sanger, I think it’s very safe to say he was in favor of abortion rights.

  Except that it’s not true at all. Alveda King is a liar. Not only was Martin Luther King, Jr. not a “conservative”, he was a SOCIALIST. He was also a strong supporter of Planned Parenthood. He was very much in favor of abortion rights. And your assumption that he would be opposed to gay rights is equally baseless.
