  Still, even assuming the worst of conspiracy theories (which I don’t – I think terrorists work on ways of killing us 24/7, and this just happend to hit now), this incident wouldn’t help Dems, who are tradtionally seen as weak on defense-related issues. This event can’t help them, and can only hurt them at the polls.

  Didn’t see the show, but considering it’s taped in the greater Los Angeles area (read: full of stupid liberals), I wouldn’t be surprised if they were booing her. Which is fine by me, freedom of expression and all that jazz. Trust me, I’d boo President O-Boy or Moochelle – anywhere, anytime – if given the chance.

  Admittedly, I’m a big Kristin Wiig fan. Thankfully, the skit sucked major ass. So luckily, SNL will get nowhere near the damage traction it did with Palin.

  Christine’s comments aside, there’s nothing imitable about her. Palin’s voice and look (for a politician) are so recognizable that anyone can do a halfway decent impression of her, and everyone will know who it is. Christine has no such distinctions. While pretty, she’s as Plain Jane as they come.

  As such, SNL will not be a player in this race.

  You’re right, there was something just off-center about her speech. If I’m charitable, her grateful tone towards Iran is due to the fact that her two cohorts remain in the slammer. If I’m cynical, she still blames the US for what happened to them. As usual, the truth must lie somewhere in between.
