  If it‘s fuel economy you’re after – go diesel. The diesel epa ratings are actually UNDERESTIMATED as to opposed to the lemming hybrid ratings. Even with our stringent air quality standards, vw’s get over 45mpg. Ironically, diesels in Europe approach 70mpg because of less absurd government regulations. The American model = burn lots more fuel a little cleaner. The European model = burn a lot less fuel a little bit dirtier. You won’t catch me saying this often, but the europeans are better than us in regards to that automobile philosophy. Another irony is that the nickel mines in china and russia that are necessary to build batteries for the stupid hybrids are some of the most obscene environmental disasters on the planet – so much for green hybrids

  I used to make fun of this guy, but now I think he’s the man we need. He‘s the only politician that I know of that doesn’t give a rats *ss whether or not you like his style or opinion. On foreign policy, yeah Paul’s kooky, but the only chance America has to survive is for a leader to finally be serious about getting our financial house in order. A few more years of these deficits and our ability to have any say in world matters will evaporate – foreign policy stances of American politicians will be irrelevant.
