  I have zero interest in the denizens of the Hollywood entertainment industry, and I urge fellow conservatives to adopt the same attitude. They are a liberal blight on our culture and nation. They are hugely responsible for the unbelievable moral decay in America. Not to mention that most of them have absolutely no ability to think straight. Cut off the oxygen to their careers by refusing to buy their products. Don’t listen to their music. Don’t pay money to see their movies. Don’t watch the idiots on television. If you really want to do something about their power in America, you can do so by affecting their pocketbook. Otherwise, you might as well just stop complaining.

  To GoAheadMakeMyDay, Jesus did not teach that people should not have wealth. He taught against letting wealth make you someone who does not care about the poor, does not feel a need for God, is more interested in things than God, etc. Jesus’ dear friend Lazarus was a very wealthy man. Jesus told the rich young ruler to give away all his wealth because that is what stood in the young man’s way. It was a specific message to a specific person. It is not money, but rather the LOVE of money, that is the root of all evil, per Scripture.

  I would encourage you to rely solely on Scripture for your doctrine. Christ did. He quoted Scripture all day long every day. He told his followers to seek truth, and then he stated that God’s word is truth. People’s ideas… including those of popes… come and go with the wind, but the Scripture just keeps on saying the same thing. And at this point is when I hear the argument that people interpret Scripture differently. Well, let God be true and every man a liar, which is something Scripture says. We have to examine people’s motives for how they interpret scripture before accepting what they teach about it. Better yet, read it and carefully study it for yourself. Then you will be better equipped to sift through what people claim it says. Christ established Scripture as truth from God. It was written through the Holy Spirit. There are a lot of errors and excesses in certain branches of Protestantism too. You have to sift through those also. Jesus revealed in the parable of the wheat and the tares that this would be the case in the church until His return. So, stick cotton in your ears so you cannot hear what the TV preachers and the popes are saying and study the Bible for yourself.
