Horse Collapses and Dies After Winning $150K Race
May 13, 2012 at 11:16am
Yes, people have been riding horses “forever”, but let’s not forget that mankind has been playing God by messing with the natural breeding process with racehorses. No matter how wild horses originally were, they were not designed to run hard races like this periodically. And a racehorse’s life is anything but wild and natural.
Have a heart.

“The child sees nothing wrong with remaining in an infantile state indefinitely.”
Indefinitely? Odds are that this child will self-wean within a year. Any “problems” he has regarding BF will be due to his mother selling this picture.
And you have the scenario all wrong. The idea with attachment parenting is to nurture the child so he feels wanted and loved…and grows up to be a person who does *not* look to others to fill the void he has b/c his parents isolated him in another room to sleep, sleep trained him (left him alone crying until he “gave up” out of despair). When you push the child out of the nest too soon and don’t take into account his specific timetable, you create a needy person in society.
Liberals have a lot of things wrong, but attachment parenting is not one of them. Some of them have given AP a bad name by actually being permissive parents without boundaries and letting children run the home. That is *not* AP.
Thankfully conservative Christians like Dr Sears have championed for nurturing babies and children the way God designed.
Parents who relegate their baby to another room, ignore their cries, plunk a bottle/pacifier in their mouth b/c theycan’t be bothered w/soothing or nursing (and some don’t even hold their baby, but use a bottle propper!), don’t spend time engaging with them and holding them but have them in a carseat or floor most of the time until they have flat head syndrome and then they wonder why they are not close wih

I‘m not a liberal and I wouldn’t put my breastfeeding photo on Time magazine, but I support extended breastfeeding (usually defined as beyond the first year).
Cow’s milk is designed to nourish a calf.

I agree. We’ve done the same.
Our culture is in such a hurry to detach from their baby the minute s/he is born. I call it “detachment parenting”. They don’t want to do the hard work of parenting. And authentic attachment parenting is hard work; it’s not permissive parenting.

I voted: “something else” b/c I support breastfeeding beyond infancy, but I think the Time‘s photo is meant to make nursing mama’s look like freaks.
Breastfeeding is God’s design not only for nourishing babies, but it continues to provide nutrition, antibodies and comfort to toddlers and preschoolers. When my DD was going through a serious surgery at the age of 3yo, breastfeeding provided the fluids and comfort she needed to make it through. The surgeon told me that if I had any plans to wean, it would be best to wait until a period of time after her surgery. He knew the value of breastmilk, which is irreplaceable and often called “liquid gold”. Its composition changes as the baby grows and it is specific for each baby. It’s the most miraculous substance when you have a sick baby and they comfort and nurse themselves to health through breastfeeding.
I do believe in modesty and my opinion is that most active nursing toddlers/preschoolers may need to be nursed in private. When they reach a point where they are able to walk up to their mama and lift her blouse to nurse, then the mama should consider others around her in the public arena.
I also feel that women, in general, need to get a little self-respect and stop wearing low-cut blouses that show cleavage. Nursing mamas are just trying to nurture their babies/tots and they get backlash. Yet every day we have half-dressed women running around with their breasts hanging out and wearing short, short skirts.

‘Told That We Had Nothing to Worry About’: Parents Sue for ‘Wrongful Birth’ After Daughter Born With Down Syndrome

It’s my understanding that CVS testing poses a greater risk to the fetus. Some babies are born with limb deformities b/c they mistakenly take more tissue than they should have! Obviously, as this case shows, they can simply take the mother’s tissue by mistake too.
Why are people so obsessed with having a lot of information about their baby? People have to know the gender, then have to be reassured if it is “healthy”, they want a pre-born photo of the baby in the womb, etc.
I was an “older” mom when my husband and I conceived. We declined all pre-natal testing. We left everything in God’s hands. I had a wonderful pregnancy and beautiful birth experience. 3 yrs later the pediatrician discovered that our daughter was born w/a heart defect. The cardiologist said that it was a blessing in disguise that her heart defect wasn’t discovered during pregnancy; otherwise doctors would have most likely panicked, intervened and caused more harm than good. Our daughter went on to have 2 open heart surgeries and is doing wonderfully. We trust that God revealed everything in His perfect timing and He has blessed our family immensely through our faith in Him!
It breaks my heart that people simply discard precious, innocent life b/c it doesn’t fit their agenda.

People like this shouldn’t even be parents. If you don’t want to care for that precious baby, then please give her to another family who does!
So what will these parents do if a devastating illness/accident happens to one of their current children?
Sexist Jeans? Clothing Label Tells Wearers Washing Clothes Is ‘Job’ of ‘Your Woman’
March 8, 2012 at 11:14am
I’d be a little annoyed if it read, “Give it to your old lady”. But “Woman” is okay. What’s wrong with women doing the laundry? We’ve seen how feminizing our men has worked for our culture. What we need is men going back to being the leaders of the home: protecting their family, cherishing their wives, mentoring their children. When men lead as God designed, everything falls into place in the home. Right now, what we have in most families is chaos. See the DVD “Courageous”.
