  • There are many programs available for welfare benefits for single mothers. These include food, medical, childcare, education and housing assistance.

  • Only if he had legally married each of his baby mommas…

  • Monkeysmomma – The Church has nothing whatever to do with those practicing polygamy. They are not members of the Church. If any members are found to be practicing plural marriage, they are excommunicated. There are people who leave the LDS church and start their own religion base loosely on LDS beliefs.

  • Great point Bryan, It would take quite a while for a deputy to show up, so it’s best Mr. Vance and his neighbors keep an eye out for each other and protect themselves.

Vance West lives on a farm in a remote area of Missouri outside Bois d’Arc, so if voters approve a half-percent sales tax for law enforcement needs in Greene County, the Sheriff says he will be able to hire more patrol deputies for rural areas of the county. However, most of that money would stay in Springfield. From The Springfield News Leader: “The tax, expected to generate about $5 million a year, would allow the county to hire dozens of new deputies, detectives and jail staff, as well as additional prosecutor and juvenile officers”.

  • Midwestmom – “Exactly. I wonder what group they’ll put in the crosshairs next?”
Well, how about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? Romney and his Morman faith have been a target for some time, and now that Santorum is moving up in the polls, it‘s the Catholic’s turn.

  • EBT cards should only be used to buy food and only at certain location in your city, like a PX. These would be huge warehouses with no frills and no displays. All items would be generic (white packaging with black letters) and your choices would be limited when it came to snacks and desserts. No gourmet items, filet mignon or lobster. You would be encouraged to buy items to prepare your own meals (with the help of Michelle Obama’s eating healthy cookbook – free).

Perhaps if people on government assistance had to shop in a government-type warehouse, they would be more aware of the source of their income and their lack of choices under that system.

  • I believe Rabbi Lapin was the ‘teacher’ giving the lesson here, not Beck, and he put forth an excellent argument. Being a Christian, what do you believe to be the cause of the moral decay in today’s society, or do you just not see it?

I also noticed that you’re not above including a dig about Mormanism (…“My guess is that this is because the stance of many Churches towards the LDS”). How very “Christian” of you…

  • It’s not so much about the word being uttered, it’s about the response of the adults. Laughing about it teaches the child who’s saying it, that it’s “cute” or “funny” when the response should be the opposite. But, of course today, it seems like everyone‘s speech is peppered with this word and it’s no long considered offensive or vulgar. My, how times have changed. When I was young, I would have had my mouth washed out with soap for using this or other similar words.

  • “I was discriminated against because I was with Occupy San Diego,” protester Vivian McCardle told KFDA-TV. “It’s appalling that people would treat others like that. When I walked up to that door he said you’re one of them. You people. You’re one of them going to Washington. Umm… One of them?”

Um, isn’t that what you say about the rest of us – “you people” and “you’re one of them?” How‘s it feel when the shoe’s on the other foot?

  • Yes, I did, and if it was the same Chuckie Cheese where this took place, I can only wonder why this family decided to have their birthday party there. Were they naive?
