  • Cont…Good luck with that…you are responsible for keeping all of the 613 laws plus the things Jesus added to it in Matthew and Luke. Do you have a savings account? Have you sold all of your possessions and given to the poor…and are you relying on God alone to take care of you needs like the birds of the air and the lilies of the field do.

The gospel of the Kingdom has been suspended…the body of Christ has been given a different program than the Jews were given to provoke them to jealousy until the times of the gentiles is complete. When the gentiles fall into unbelief as the Jews did, God will remove the gentile branches, turn back to the Jews and complete the Jewish program and prophesies, including turning back to the Law.

That is what the Bible says if you read all of it.

  • @servant…
What the Bible says is that God was dealing almost exclusively with the Nation of Israel from Genesis chapter 12 through the middle of the book of Acts and Jesus didn’t deal with gentiles at all during His earthly ministry.

After the Stoning of Stephen we see a transition begin to take place from Judaism and the Jews to the Body of Christ made up of both Jews and Gentiles concluding with Acts 28 and the final rejection of Jesus by the Jews.

God gave the Nation of Israel many warnings in the OT that He was going to turn to another Nation and provoke the Jews to Jealousy (Deut. 32:21) and in Romans chapter 9-11 the Apostle Paul declares that the Judgment of God has finally been executed and with the exception of the remnant, the Jews and their religion have been cut off.

Here’s the thing…Some of the Jews accepted Jesus as the Messiah but they weren’t willing to let go of the Law so they promoted faith in Jesus plus the works of the Law for righteousness under the leadership of the 12 and James, the Lords brother. They didn’t like the message of salvation by grace through faith which God gave specifically to Paul and verified it with many special miracles. The followers of the Jews became the Catholic religion and the followers of the gospel preached by Paul became the Protestants. The conflict between these two groups continues even today.

From your words it seems that you are following the Jewish believers and sticking to the Law alone…good

  • Romans 12:2; “do not conform to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Why is it so shocking that a Christian institution requires its teachers to actually adhere to the religion they represent.

Anyone who claims to be a follower of Christ is required to turn away from sin and embrace the righteousness of God which comes through the power of the Spirit.

Any person who claims to be a Christian and desires to continue living in sin and disregard the commandments of God is not a Christian at all.

Romans 6:1-2; “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?…GOD FORBID!!!”

Romans 6:11-14; “Likewise recon yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ… Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body that you should obey it in the LUSTS thereof… Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves unto God… For sin shall not have dominion over you.”

I for one applaud the University for this action!!!

  • cont… sexual sin, the “lust of the flesh” has not been done away with and is still considered an abomination before God!!!

  • @DON’T TREAD: Understand this… The Bible as we have it today is bound together in a single “book” for the sake of convenience but originally they were scrolls which were separated into 7 parts.
    1 The Law

    2 The Prophets

3 The four fold Gospel of Jesus Christ; (i.e. the fulfillment of the Law and the partial fulfillment of the prophesies of the “gospel of the Kingdom”)

4 The Apostle; (the 13 writings of the apostle Paul and possibly Hebrews as he was recognized as the Chief Apostle of the Lord)

5 The book of Acts; (seen as the transition from the “gospel of the Kingdom” offered to Israel under Judaism and preached by Jesus and the 12, to the “gospel of the grace of God” which was revealed to the Apostle Paul in the desert of Arabia over a period of 3 years and it is the outline for the way Christianity is to practiced today.

    6 Revelation; foretelling future events.

7 The writings of “other Apostolic men”.

If you follow Jesus teachings during His earthly ministry to the Jews, you are commanded to keep the Law in its entirety, sell all you have and rely totally on God for your wellbeing.

If you follow the teachings of Jesus as revealed to Paul you will see that the Law of Moses was fulfilled by the Lord and some of them were lifted/cleansed by the blood of Christ. Therefore we are now permitted to eat pork and shellfish, and wear mixed clothing, but sexual sin, the “lust of the flesh” has not been done away with and is still co

  • Norman Rockwell portrayed a life and time that has unfortunately passed away due in large part to the welfare state and the progressive agenda. There was once something in this country called family unity and people had an innate sense of decency and morality but thanks to the 1960’s cultural revolution; of which I am a product of…it’s all but gone.

The cop in the picture had no fear that the kid was packing heat or that he was a drug mule…he was just mad, and when he cooled off and came to his senses he’d go on back home. Back then, Leave it to Beaver was real. People went to Church, kids went to school and did their homework, fathers went to work and mom’s stayed home and ran the household. It was working just fine for generations and the country prospered. I’m afraid our best days are in fact behind us. I submit to you; Americans sympathizing with murderous terrorists, school shootings, and the onslaught of assaults being made on the institutions of faith on this very day as just three small pieces of the mountain of evidence we are facing that is leading us to our demise.

This sucks because I have kids and I fear that the good fortune of the USA may run out with my generation.

  • When I hear of “progressive” ideas they usually just make my heart sink…this one makes my blood boil!!!

I can see it now… a panel of judges in hospital delivery room…
    is it alive…yep…
    is it a person…yep…
    live or die…
    yea or nay…
    live…all in favor….

    Absolutely disgusting!!!

  • @PURAVIDA56
    No…you are not still saved.

You may have never been saved in the first place.

You say you studied the Bible extensively, yet you do not know the answer to this very important question?

    THIS IS NEW TEATAMENT SALVATION…

Co 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, IF… ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, UNLESS… ye have BELIEVED IN VAIN. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

    CAN YOU LOOSE IT…? YES…

Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, IF THOU CONTINUE IN HIS GOODNESS: otherwise THOU SHALT ALSO BE CUT OFF.

    Col 1:21-23 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: IF… ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, AND BE NOT MOVED AWAY FROM THE HOPE OF THE GOSPEL, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

  • I contend that the reason why the Church and Christianity as a whole is in the condition it is in is because Christians don’t understand the Bible, therefore, they don’t read it at all, and because of this they behave just like the non-believers do.

The power to live the Christian life comes from understanding the doctrine of the indwelling Spirit of God and not from your own ability to be good. 90% of Christians don’t know this and they don’t know where in the Bible to find this teaching and they struggle with the “lust of the flesh” and that failure falls directly on Church leaders.

Christianity is a spiritual growth process that parallels physical growth. Christians are “born again” as new born spiritual babies and must be fed “the sincere milk of the word”, but everyone knows that you can’t feed a new born child milk very long or it will be mal-nourished. The child’s eating habits change as they grow and after a period of time they begin to eat meat and vegetables and then WOW…do they ever grow!!! Christians aren’t eating solid food and their growth is underdeveloped as a result.

If I ask the average Christian to give me a chapter by chapter overview of any book in the New Testament, let’s say…Romans or Ephesians or Colossians for example, I’ll bet that 99% of the Christians who read this post can’t do it.

That is why the Church has become ineffective and irrelevant in the world today.

  • I have a question to any and all Mormon’s.

What do you think Paul meant when he wrote…
Gal 1:8 But though we, OR AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

The “gospel of the grace of God” message was given exclusively to the apostle Paul by the risen Lord Jesus Christ Himself in the desert of Arabia over a period of 3 years. Then, God gave him supernatural power to heal the sick, cast out evil spirits, and pass judgment on those who sought to pervert the gospel. This was done to prove that the message was truly from God. Do the “prophets” of Mormonism have the same testimony? The entire book of Galatians was written because people were trying to change/add to, the message God had given to Paul.
