  • No….it makes him look stupid!

  • You know, I have come to realize that Joe Biden is trying to sound the bites that Dan Rather would always make. Except Rather knew what worked while Biden just looks like an idiot.

  • Ramon – okay, but I’ll add one more until Jesus comes back.

I’ll nominate Mike Urbanski for having some balls to outsmart the ACLU.

  • bodybag – I’ll tell you something, I’ve known Mike Ubanski and he is a good and a very smart man. If you get your head out of the sand and THINK about it, it’s quite a shrewd move against the ACLU.

So, before you get your panties in a wad, think how ingenius that request is. It actually puts the ACLU on the defensive.

  • I understand your sentiment, but I think he’s trying to think out of the box and corner the ACLU on this. I call it a shrewd move. The 10 Commandments, yes, are the basic rules written by God. Okay, got it. Except not everyone believes in Judeo Chrstian theology.

If the ACLU says that it’s ONLY offended by the usage of God, then what argument would they have on basic decent behavior in society that is laid out in the last 6 Commandments?

Then, not only would the ACLU have to defend WHY that also offends people who do not believe in Judeo Christian sentiment, they would have to PROVE that it actually HARMS people.

And THAT would be a very tall order and unwinnable in any court, appeals and SCOTUS.

  • Okay, first, I have worked with the judge personally and he has always been a fair minded man. I have always had the greatest respect for him.

Second – When you actually think about it; he’s making quite a smart move that the ACLU has NEVER quite thought about. He’s saying that, look, if you just have a problem with the first four commandments that deal with the word GOD, then we’ll do away with that. IF you desire that ALL 10 be done away with, then it’s not about just about GOD but about morality and so much more!

Basically, what he’s trying to do is corner the ACLU. Because if they don’t agree to this, then that tells you that it’s about so much more than just the mention of God. The morals that are laid out are ones that we as Americans abide by and have so for over 200 years. And those morals are judeo-christian in nature but why would anyone be offended by ‘Thou shall not steal’ or ‘Thou shall not take thy neighbors stuf’ or ‘Don’t have an affair with your neighor‘s wife’?

This goes back to progressives and their ideology. If it‘s now deemed to ’take your neighbor‘s stuff’ as acceptable behavior, then we are a no morals society and communism can certainly take hold.

It is the root of evil.

p.s. It says in the 1st Amendment that you shall not be denied your ‘free excercise of’ religion. Isn’t that JUST what the ACLU is doing? The liberal take on the first SCOTUS decision was done erroneously by an atheist judege who looked at a priva

  • I just read Zorro’s post on May 3,@ 11:20 am…..just sums it up right there. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

  • Why am I not surprised? What I find more interesting is that his son wanted a car that could ONLY be affordable by the 1%!!!(yeah, the people he so desperately hates)

Even more sad is that he admitted outloud that he wished that he had more taxpayer funded ‘expense allowance’ to be able to purchase the car!

    Idiocy knows no bounds.

  • Pandemic – Your’re absolutely right. But it wasn’t the teacher who wrote that lyric, but I believe it was Michael Jackson and others who wrote it. That said, it just tells us that whomever wrote it wasn’t educated in that dept.
Jesus did turn the 5 loaves of bread into thousands to feed the crowd because the disciples told him that they did not have enough to feed them.

  • Does this teacher not realize that she is actually GOING against the 1st Amendment? It says that congress shall not ‘deny the free excercize of ’ and she is denying her class the right to free speech.

She looses on two counts alone.

There is nothing in the constitution that gives a state employee the authority to deny one to be able to say anything religious for fear of offending someone else.

That’s why we do have the Bill of Rights for crying out loud.
