  • I could barely tolerate watching this President speak when he was only making origami with the truth. Now he’s waving his hand in front of the camera saying, “These aren‘t the droids you’re looking for.” Who this man thinks he is has been growing patently manifest and the divisions between those who will believe and those who won’t are growing frighteningly clear. .

  • Can’t afford to piss off OWS, but can‘t look like he can’t afford to piss off OWS….can’t afford to piss off Iran, but can‘t look like he can’t afford to piss off Iran…can’t afford to piss off Saudi Arabia, but can‘t look like he can’t afford to piss off Saudi Arabia….pattern here?

  • I, too, wonder how he knows this with certainty. It doesn’t look like our love fest with Egypt has panned out very well. Frankly, the U.S. is becoming an albatross to many of our so-called allies who’s sole purpose for engaging in close “military and intelligence consultation,” with the U.S. has been continued economic and military support they know we cannot continue to provide. Look around. Many of our “allies,” are looking for new BFF’s as it becomes clear that being an American ally is beginning to be more like hanging out with the guy no one wants to admit they know. No one is afraid of the big, bad, wolf anymore and right or wrong, we’d all better get accustomed to not being the guard dog everyone wants at their gate. Does Israel trust the U.S. enough to share plans to attack Iran in advance, or is the White House more likely to get an FYI when the bunker busters are on their way to the ground?

  • “I then looked at myself in the mirror, I was proud of MYSELF, of my entire life, everything I have done. It was the BEST feeling.” I wish I could say the same.

  • The devil here is in the technically correct, but poorly chosen grammar. In addition to it’s usual usage, the word “from,” is used to denote a smaller subset of something that originated from a larger entity. An example is, “Some members of the military band were recruited from the Huston High School Band.” The first sentence of the article reads, ” A troubling new FBI assessment has found that the American military has become infiltrated from the estimated 1.4 million gang members currently in the United States.“ The sentence states there are ”1.4 million gang members currently in the U.S.,“ and that the American military has been infiltrated ”from,” meaning by a portion of that number, not by that entire number. Thankfully, the report itself clarifies the statement.

  • My husband has been laid off from his job as a mechanical designer/drafter every five years for the past fifteen since graduating from technical college. Job one was lost after “his” union was making members intentionally inefficient to “save jobs.” The end result of suggesting this is ethically wrong? No more job. Job two was lost after his locally grown company was bought out by a corporation from France that promptly improved their bottom line by cutting half the workforce. Job number three, this January, was lost after another local company, not a fly-by-night, but a well-rooted local manufacturing company, was bought out by a company from Italy. After a fruitless six month search for mechanical design work that doesn’t exist, we took the last of everything we had, bought what was needed, and started our own business. We were terrified, but it’s been four months and we have gotten the most unbelievable response. There are people out there who really do want to build things. The innovators are plenty but the microinfrastructure needed to support the smallest of new businesses is hard to find. I encourage anyone with a skill or idea to think hard about the possibilities. Who says you can’t market yourself and your skills as well as someone else? It takes time, effort, and yes, some risk, but is a traditional job any less risky these days?
