  • Nice brick work – probably quite thick. Still standing after all these years. The real story is not about structures. It’s about people, and what they do. The kudzu, an invasive species, is now taking over. There’s a metaphor in there somewhere.

For those of you who don’t know the story of the scorpion and the frog: it’s in the nature of the frog to be kind, & in the scorpion to sting. The scorpion blabs & blabs with promises not to sting the frog if the frog will take him across the river. Finally the frog gives in. In the middle of the river, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog asks why in hell did you (scorpion) do that? Scorpion answers, it’s in my nature….and they both drown.

  • Burn a few….let me explain…..I did not go on a trip. That cost an airline ticket. I’m one person. The burn went unnoticed. I’m just one ant. Multiply the ants. Examine who loses…ground transportation (buses, taxis, etc.), parking fees, (fuel costs), and parking attendant fees, ground maintenance, janitorial staff (no bathroom use or dirty shoes on floor), no purchases of newspapers, magazines, coffee (Buckies), drinks, meals, Tobler chocolate , bottled water, juice and soda, smokes (don’t smoke, actually), ear plugs, etc. (somebody has to pay rent), no going through customs, no airline lounges or ground airline attendants needed, no inflight purchases or extra baggage fees, no car rental, no hotel costs, no extra purchases for necessities left at home, no news stand books, teddy bears, etc.. So when I say there are many fingers…yes…manufacturing of those ugly gray trays to put your personal belongings and shoes in, and so on. That is all part of the picture…. and no trash pickup needed. You get the idea…..

Complaining is one thing. Doing something is another. I really did not go on a planned trip. Perhaps that’s passive, but it’s a passive action.

  • Still thinking about the TSA. About personal experience and observation. TSA is involved most definitely in molestation, intimidation, and exploitation. Not only that, TSA is putting all passengers at risk. The TSA employees are not flying at all. They stay on the ground. I don‘t think they give a horse’s ass about anyone, so long as they can play their mean games on innocent people. TSA needs a lesson. Needs to answer for what TSA does. The best way to handle this on the individual level is to not purchase tickets, TELL the military who transport troops via the airlines to demand change, and let us – individuals, corporations, groups ie the disabled, AARP (do something for a change NOT in self-interest!), etc, etc, – TELL the airlines to do their part. We must put pressure on…turn the heat up…..there are many fingers in this responsibility pie. Burn a few.

  • To Pearsontech…you’ve got a point. But, what to do? Bend over?

  • Fidel….thought his brother took over……isn’t Fidel in extremely poor health or ? dead.
Keep postponing air trips. TSA’s sour attitude; invasive, abusive, pedophilic, and smarmy touchy-feelie habitual behavior; use of night sticks – esp. crotch shots on both genders, and other niceties are not endearing. One has to be pretty sick to work (or continue to work) for TSA after being asked to do immoral, unethical, and inhuman searches.
Airlines not concerned? And now, Titanic-like planes in the air above. Ummm……..

  • Best medicine ever!

  • Shame on NYC.

  • War is Hell. Absolutely no doubt about that.
Americans (not all, but generally) take freedom for granted.
Appreciate it while it lasts……the future’s very uncertain…

Gratitude. Gratitude. Gratitude. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Words are a poor conveyance, but they come from the heart.

  • If you read the story completely, it says the party committing the assault was arrested. Obviously, the assault issue was a separate issue from the harassment issue. Always get the facts straight.

  • Correction: I’m saying the electronic devices isolate people, one from another. I watched my niece zone into her handheld whatever, refusing to interact with real people. It was an eye-opener.
