  Whoa! These Students have the attitude, awareness, and courage needed these days all around the world. Why can’t Mexican-American’s explore their history? Why are you “Right Wingers” so threatened by any celebration of a culture other than your own? Glenn Beck (and LDS teaching) espouses a great interest in heritage, and Beck even promotes a family history research website (it’s private, for profit of course). I’m a Socialist, but I listen to Beck daily. We’re supposed to know who are enemies are. My point is, why is it so awful for some children having the opportunity to choose to learn about their culture? Where they came from? Where their roots are? Don’t you think that would be healthy and beneficial to a child?

  Solidarity for all who are dispossessed, oppressed, disenfranchised, cast out and denied their God-given rights! People of all faiths who care about establishing a JUST and FAIR system for every person world-wide must stand together against oppression, against nationalism, against capitalism, against the exploitation of woman by religious and cultural/social institutions. Muslim, Jew, Catholic, Protestant, Buddhist, Hindu, etc…we all have to come together as children of God, and express the love and inherent divinity (in the sense that God breathed life into each one of us) that is present within one another. Water is a human right! Decent housing is a HUMAN RIGHT. The greatest in the kingdom of God are the LEAST of our brothers and sisters…the destitute, the marginalized. Christ can be found in the face of the poor that we feed and clothe and house, in the face of the children that we teach and learn from, and in the interactions that we have with one another. God is our Liberator, NO HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAL.
