  • Google is a private enterprise that finances massive infrastructure that you get to use with little or no cost. If you want to live off the grid, that’s fine, and good luck with it. I don’t. If you think you have privacy in today’s world WITHOUT Google services, fine. Enjoy the delusion while you can. You can opt out of these privacy policies by extinguishing Google products from your life. Feel free. Don‘t worry that Google knows where you are and who you’re talking to; worry that FBI agents can write their own search warrants while they stand on your porch; that you can be put into prison for divulging that such a warrant was served upon you; that American soldiers can now be directed to arrest you in your home and waft you off to Gitmo; that habeas corpus is in America’s dustbin; that you have no longer have a right to legal counsel in this circumstance; that every podunk village and township in America has a SWAT team and an armored car; that when the government has all these hammers, everything (and everyone) starts to look like a nail. Want to go back to passing notes like we did in school? Not me. This wheel has turned. It can’t be rolled back.
