  • Despite the plethora of typos, this is a “must read” article for any concerned American. We are being over run, and nobody in our government seems to give a hoot.

  • The survey statistics in this article are skewed, and do not reflect mainstream American values. Think about it: The 382 women surveyed were patients in a free health clinic. This is comparable to the Chicago Times calling the presidential election for Dewey over Truman. The survey only contacted phone owners, who at the time we predominantly Republicans. Always consider the source for any survey results you read.

  • Sadly, the open carry law would not have helped for 2 reasons. First, the laws does not go into effect until 1 Jan, so there was obviously nobody around carrying or willing ot use a gun to defend themselves or other innocent people. Second, the open carry law in California prohibits transporting the gun within 1,000 feet of a public school, which in this case there is one a few blocks south of Salon Meritage.

I believe the whole tragedy comes down to thugs knowing people cannot legally protect themselves in california, so they just run amok, with no fear of consequences. We have accepted the nanny state and will not stand up for ourselves, so I guess we get what we deserve. Sad for the victoms and families.

  • Perry Gets Pounded Day After Debate

    September 23, 2011 at 6:35pm

Perry lost me on the college tuition breaks for illegals. We‘re dealing with this issue in California and while I’m not surprised by Gov Brown’s support of illegals, I did not expect it from Perry. Compassion or not, I just don’t get it. My vote is now for Santorum.

  • That is exactly my point, Wolfman. I get so sick of hearing the “socialization” argument. As parents we can find and facilitate participation in the social events we want our children to be exposed to.

  • Thanks, DRBAGE. My chldren were active participants in Scouting, as well as various community sports teams. The key to success in homeschooling is parental involvement. It takes time, effort, and discipline to make it work. Parents who cannot commit to spending time with their children should not attempt homeschooling.

  • Like every rebuke of homeschooling I have ever heard, this article makes the point to tell us that homeschooled kids do not get socialized. I homeschooled my four children and they have adapted well to interacting with their community and peers. During their formative years I was in complete control of who they associated with, and what values they were exposed to. Besides, what kind of “socialization” are we talking about in the public school environment? Let’s see… liberalism, transgender studies, drugs, gangs…

  • The Saudi flag has words written on it that says, “There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet.”

One would think the libs, ACLU, etc woul dbe all over that for supporting religion in school. I’m dumfounded by this entire incident. Having lived in the Middle East for 4 years, I can aaure you, there are no American flags being flown in their schools.

  • Did you notice in the short video that one of the slides is “report lightbulb changers” alert. Apparently, the dorms and common areas at KC have all been equipped with the mercury bulb, and students are changing them back to my favorite Edison (can’t spell incandescent) bulbs. By the way, how do you dispose of a mercury filled lightbulb?

  • I am at a total loss as to the meaning of her comment. And here I thought Ebonics was bad in Oakland. Apparently, I need to get out more.
