  We allow surgeons to cut open a chest, slice the beating heart out a patient, replace it with one from a dead person and never once does a govt. official claim to have oversight of the process. But put an addition on your home? Better have a permit, an architect or engineer, and a non-licensed govt. official put his seal of approval on it first without any training in engineering. It’s the only place where a professional must have work reviewed first, for a fee by the govt.

  By the standard of today’s over-bloated building regulations and building codes guys like Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington would all be criminals. Yet, their homes still stand today.

  OH MY GOD! Firearms were found on the first floor! It was completely relevant and important that the building officials noted that in their 3D rendering of the premises. That must be some form of code violation. Although my expertise in bldg. codes has never revealed any reference to them. In any state.
