  • This could be because the writers of the bible had no idea the north american continent even existed.

Its not the same as a human father being blamed for the actions of his son. God, according to the monothesitic religions is the architect of everything and everyone. So by creating this system everything that it does and everything that happens in it is either directly or indirectly the responsibility of the creator. Human parents do not have control over every minute detail of their childs genetics, personality, time and place in history where they will be born, etc. they have control over the environment the child was raised in for sure but only to a limited sense. So blame for the childs actions can only be placed on the parents to a limited sense. (lack of proper discipline in childhood is probably a contributing factor to a kid growing up to be a criminal)

My time bomb analogy is much more accurate in describing what is going on if God exists and he is in fact omniscent and all powerful. Except that the analogy would have to be expanded in that the items/people around the bomb at the time it exploded would have to be placed there by the bomber as well.

That still makes no sense. God knows ahead of time who will accept him and who will not, all of these people will be born created as he made them in the situations they were born into. So God knowingly makes people that will do evil things, then eternally punishes them for doing the things he knew they would do… Which also brings up another problem… how is it free will if your actions are known before you perform them? The concept of free will necessitates the ability for multiple different outcomes which is not compatible with a known result.

  • If any being can KNOW the future then free will is not possible. Prophecy and free will are incompatible ideas.

  • If God is ominiscient then he would have known before creating satan that satan was going to cause all the evil, diseases, etc. So by knowingly setting in motion the series of events that were going to lead to the evil he might as well be guilty of the evil himself. Logically what you are saying is the equivalent of saying that someone that sets up a time bomb is innocent and it is the time bomb that should be to blame for the resulting chaos.

  • If God knows all (omniscient) he would have known before creating satan that he was going to turn against him and cause all the evil we see in the world (disease included according to you). So by creating satan to begin with God knowingly set in motion the seires of events that would lead to terrible diseases, evil, etc, which means he might as well have done it himself. Am I missing something here?

  • I don’t understand this whole Isaiah prophecies thing… that was written in 300BC so why is it beyond possibility that the story about Jesus fulfilling said prophecies 300+ years later could not simply be written in such a way that the character in the story (Jesus) was said to fulfill said prophecies?

  • Not all muslims are terrorists, however virtually all terrorists are muslims. Its time to start profiling! stop groaping grandma at the airport!

  • Before I say anything I just want to come out and say it, I’m an agnostic, I’m not really religious at all.

But seriously, going around trolling in a place you know is filled with religious people is just moronic, you are just as annoying as the JW’s and Mormons going door to door passing out pamphlets.

I do not understand the motivations of “militant athiests” what are you trying to do? stamp out every last bit of religion in western culture? You’re delusional if you think that christianity/religion hasn’t played a HUGE role in shaping laws and cultural norms as they exist in most all of western civilization. Why can’t you just accept that “under God” is in the pledge, and “In God We Trust” is on the money? What does it hurt? Its not preaching at you if anything it is a carry over from the nations past, its part of our history like it or not, and frankly I wouldn’t change any of it.

  • It is beyond time to do something about the number of illegals in this country. We don’t need to round them up, we just need to make is so difficult to function in this nation if you’re not legal that they will self deport.

    Here’s what we need:

    1. Massive fines for (knowingly) hiring an illegal immigrant or failing to attempt to verify the immigration status of someone before hiring them.

    2. When an illegal alien is found inside the country all items of a “non-personal” nature in possesion by an illegal immigrant are sold at auction (let them keep their great-grandmothers bracelet but sell the house and car) if they were purchased on credit then the creditors eat the loan. The procedes are used to deport them anything extra is used to pay off the national debt.

    3. Deport illegal immigrants to the furthest point away possible in their native country… don’t walk them across the line, send them 1800 miles farther south then let them go, see if they try again 3 hours later.

There ya go, its over, problem solved.
